WANTED: Alfetta Battery positive cap

Hi, I am looking for the red cap with the + symbol which goes over the positive pole of the battery, like the attached ones. The one on the bottom is more squared and would be my preferred version, but both would be ok. These caps were installed on the following models: Alfetta Alfetta gt Nuova Giul...

Re: Cast iron front calipers?

Hi, Thank you for your clarifications. I'll follow your suggestions and keep the Brembos as spare calipers for my 2 75 twin spark http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/5315/foto1nv2.jpg and buy 2 cast iron Ate calipers for my Alfetta, so that when their rebuild is finished I can swap the rebuilt with t...

Re: Cast iron front calipers?

Hi,
thank you for your post, I think this is the best suggestion I could get. I'll go for an extra set of ATE cast iron calipers and keep the brembos as spare parts for my 75 twin spark

Re: Cast iron front calipers?

Hi, The car is in pretty original conditions and has spent most of its life between Parma and Reggio Emilia (where famous Parmigiano Reggiano is produced) in a closed garage, being used just on sunny weekends. The owner was a 1921 man, who decided to sell the car because he has now some physical pro...

Re: Cast iron front calipers?

Hi, I'd like to ask one question. I recently bought a 1973 Alfa Romeo Alfetta in good conditions. I have noticed that the right front caliper tends to stick, so a rebiuld will be done soon. The front calipers, like all 4 bolts wheels Alfas, are cast iron. I have an extra pair of brembo front caliper...

Re: ring gear spalling!!!

Hi, Mostly because the bearing indicated by the arrow on the drawing was supplied in 2 different sizes: -a smaller one for 4 cylinders non turbocharged alfas (1,3 – 1,6 – 1,8 – 2,0 including twin spark and turbodiesel) -a bigger one for the 6 cylinders and turbocharged alfas (2,5 – 3,0 – 1,8 turbo –...

Re: ring gear spalling!!!

Hi, thanks for your reply. Xrad, yours is a good point. Getting an alfa 75 10/41 gearbox with an LSD would definitely make things easier. Honestly, if I lived in America, I would buy a Milano Platinum gearbox and would use it. Apart from the LSD, there is a definitely better gear spacing. However, o...

Re: ring gear spalling!!!

Sorry, I probably used the wrong words to express my thoughts. The car in the picture is my car. The gearbox of this car needs to be rebuilt (new syncros for the 1st and 2nd gear, use the 5th gear syncro on the 3rd and 4th gear, use the 3rd/4th gear synchro on the 5th gear, check the play between fo...

Re: ring gear spalling!!!

Maybe it is not easy to answer this question. Perhaps I should ask the question in a different way. I believe that the Milano Silver and Gold 4 satellites open differential is the same of the GTV6 or the Alfa 90 2.5. The Milano Silver, Gold and Platinum used the same hypoid gear ratio (41/10) but th...

Re: ring gear spalling!!!

Hi Sorry if I write in your post, I just have a question. Suppose you have 2 cases: 1) Alfetta 4 cylinder, with 2 satellites differential 2) GTV6 with 4 cylinders, with 4 satellites differential Suppose you want to install an LSD in both cases. Case 1 Use a shim between the crown and the LSD, (MATS,...

Re: Clutch fork grease

If available in your Country, I'd suggest the one used in the factory, that's to say AGIP 33FD.

Re: Suggestions on an Alfa GTV6 Radio

I would not mind to find an original Pioneer in working order (I am not a car audio fanatic, actually I bought a rear hatch shelf because the previous owner made holes for bigger speakers, while I am planning to revert to the original situation). The problem is that it would be difficult to find suc...

Re: Suggestions on an Alfa GTV6 Radio

Salut Simon,
Merci pour tes conseils. Actually I think I'll follow your suggestion to see if I can find some good used unit. Nakamichi would be the preferred choice (I like very much the design of the Nakamichi CD 700, which looks a bit vintage, but it is bloody expensive!!!).
Merci encore
