Re: Ignition Advance

Thank you, interesting that you start out at 18 degrees? The stock setup is 7 degrees at idle? So it sounds like I can go all the way up to 36. Great. Thanks.

Ignition Advance

Hey Everyone, I'm running Megasquirt on my 3.0 Milano with an ignition table. A few years back I got the suggestion to run a max of 26 degrees advance. What's the current conventional wisdom?

Thanks,

Milano verde parts car in Wash DC area

Hello everyone, next week (March 9) I plan to begin to part-out my spare Milano Verde. I thought I'd put out a post for the whole car before I start parting it out. Who knows, somebody my be looking for a complete 3.0 Milano. The bad: rust around the windshield (windshield is out), no Recaro interio...

Milano sunroof drain

Hello everyone, I have a Verde where there was a previous repair to the passenger side A-pillar. That repair is fine but they cut the sunroof drain. Ever since water has been draining into the A-pillar and causing damage. I've disassembled things as much as I can. My goal is to re-establish the drai...

Thanks Zamani. What I ended up doing was putting the bolts through the pressure plate, then sliding the pressure plate, clutch, and flywheel on the tranny shaft. I pushed the assembly as far as I could in without the bolt heads hitting the tranny housing. Then one by one I tightened the bolts (only ...

clutch alignment tool?

Hey there, I'm assembling a rebuilt clutch. I thought I had a clutch alignment tool from my fiat, but can't find it. Is a clutch alignment tool absolutley necessary? Is it specific to the Alfa V6 transaxles?

Thanks,

Group2 was out of their spherical bearing dedion bushing, so I went ahead and installed a SuperPro poly bushing (part SPF1830K). Here are some pictures: Homebrew bushing removal tool: http://public.bmacfarl.fastmail.fm/bushing%20removal%20tool FYI, that's a 2"pipe coupling. The ID wasn't large ...

Actually, ounce you get the order of the washers correct, the whole thing goes together pretty easy. The Belleville washer was obvious once I put it into the right place. If in doubt, before you put the snap ring on try pushing down on the rear flywheel. If it snaps down (like a spring is allowing i...

I called Group2 today. They are out of the de dion bushings until they can get another shipment from RS Racing. So unless they can get one quickly, I think I'm going to have to try this poly bushing I have. Does the swiss version really require that much machining, or can I create enough clearance v...

OK, I found a helpful page in the manual that indicates the order of the washers to add. See: http://public.bmacfarl.fastmail.fm/#single:Clutch%2520replacement.jpg But I'm still uncertain how to orient the belleville spring. Hopefully if I put it in the wrong direction I can still remove it... Bill ...

Replacing throwout bearing, direction of belleview washer?

Hello everyone, I've resurfaced my clutch disk, and the two clutch surfaces. Now I'm installing a new throughout bearing. Single clutch for a milano, not double clutch like on a GTV6. Two questions, the belleview washer is concave - which side goes down? I'm guessing the curvature of the belleview i...

Hmmm, its this the dedion bearing that requires freezing and cooking and machining, like I see on your webpage:

I dunno, seems like a lot of work, and I don't have a press.

Thanks Greg! Is that piece that is welded in there re-usable? or just part of the old bushing?

Thanks,

De Dion Bushing welded, not staked

Hello everyone, need help with my de dion triangle bushing. I'm putting in my rebuilt transaxle and thought I'd put in a new poly dedion bushing I got from AlfaBill when he was going out of business. I expected to see the top side staked in place like I've seen in other postings, but it's welded in:...

Problem solved: auxiliary and main fan flowing against eachother. Yes I know, I told you the fans were flowing in the right direction. But I only checked this by putting my hand in the engine bay to make sure there was flow. It's just one fan was stronger than the other (interestingly, the newer aux...
