Re: New cars vs old cars

suspension tech came a long way between 1987 and 2000 and the BTCC car would be much more modified than a group a car - the cossie would be quicker on a straight but way worse everywhere else.

Re: Some more brake upgrades for the 116-Barry

the overhang is no problem - that part of the pad will just crumble and fall apart anyhow (that's what the ds2500 does in my experience) - the brake pressure is centred around the pistons and dissipates towards the edge - you have pushed the pistons out as far as practical and have maximised your le...

That's a great picture - wonder how it ended. If you were behind the lens of the camera, would you shout out to the other group...?

Bond Car on a Budget

Top Gear nominate gtv6 as the best bond car on budget. I choose to ignore the jokes about reliability and arriving on a flat bed - My gtv6 is reliable! Here is a link to the relevant clip from Octopussy, an otherwise forgettale bond movie during the Rogered More period. http://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Re: festy - a pair of alfettas down under

if not for the picture, I'd call BS ... sorry, bad joke! re the alloy watts pivot, I'm no engineer, but I'd expect other bits to still be the weakest link. It will certainly be strong enough for normal tyre loadings and would only be under pressure for transferring extreme side loadings (like a spin...

Re: Uk supplier for rear drop links ?

There are two types - type with a single vertical bolt and type where the top bolt is horizontal and the bottom bolt vertical with a u shaped bracket (as per the picture below). Not sure which type is per the 75 (had one but can't remember) my 83 gtv6 has vertical single bolt type. You need to get t...

Re: Mats Strandberg (SWE)

Are long intake tubes and big plenum relevant for boost? Wouldn't less volume be better for response?
