Re: Post some vids boys!!
This is the car with the side pipes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVozCnA30gY but they collect into a Y at the rear. The owner sent me a short vid of how it sounded without the Y and it sounded real flat. Here is his website for the build up. http://www.illustrera.se/konstruktion/alfaseven.htm Hope...

Re: Post some vids boys!!
1-1=0 That's the problem of having a car so low, no room underneath for any mufflers, so one and only one, is mounted transversely across the back. Not ideal for the full V6 symphony but that's life. I could run twin side pipes like a lot of V8 rods. I did consider it until a guy sent me a sound cli...

Re: Post some vids boys!!
Exhaust bypass valves are illegal for my type of car (club plate rego).
Besides, I've never liked my cars loud, prefering a low growl to loud howl.

Re: Post some vids boys!!
Cool project, but why build a completely silent rod? 8) I must keep the engineer happy..less than 94db happy...after inspection I can make her growl some more. Interestingly the exhaust is basically the same as what I had with the 4 cylinder and it was nowhere near this quite. My neighbours either ...

Re: Post some vids boys!!
Thanks. My only observation is that you may want to think about the air intake which is directly above the hot RHS exhaust manifold. You should plumb it for cold air. Only if I stick it out the bonnet and then I might as well paint flames all over it and let my knuckles drag along the ground....

Propshaft phasing
Quick question,
Does the front shaft on the V6 (spline type) have 0 deg phasing between flanges?
I thought it would but a V6 shaft I picked up had 60deg phasing.
This got me curious so I looked at some pics on the web and found some that were the same.

Re: Alfarod goes V6
Yours is coming along just nice Lionel. I already have a megasquirt (2 in fact) and have loads of experience with them, so using one was a no brainer for me. Besides I had no trigger wheel to begin with, nor any other alfa sensors besides the CLT sensor which I swapped out for a GM anyway. I also us...

V6 advance curve.
I need the advance curve for a stock 12V.
If anyone has a copy of the curve or can give me the approx advance per 1000 rpm I'd much appreciate it,
Thanks

Re: Alfarod goes V6
Some more progress. Engine is now fully rebuilt to stock specs. Old liners were rehoned and crank linnished and fitted with standard bearing. Bottom end was rebalanced and heads slightly ported. Cams, valves etc all stock. http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr309/1928hotrod/IMG079-01.jpg http://i494...

Re: Exhaust explosions 3.0 24v
Fuel pressure is directly proportional to manifold pressure. As manifold pressure drops so does the fuel rail pressure. This is to maintain constant flow rates through the injectors as flow is equal to the square root of delta pressure. With manifold at atmosphere normal fuel pressure should, for mo...
