JJ, to be fair, and I really don't give a shit either way, you do tend to throw around a lot of numbers, percentages and grail law conversion figures, not to mention horsepower and torque stats. You're gonna open yourself up to abuse.

Yeah, i've driven Barry's 535 e34 - to the shops for chips and shampoo coke - Although I didn't drive it like I stole it (unlike my 156), I managed to anti-hijack myself on the way back, despite clear (?) instructions. Had to walk to Barry's house for help! (of course Sod's law kicked in ten minutes...

Yeah, and with the right set of cams, she could be even better. The GTA cams advanced 20 degrees on the 3.45l engine that used to be in my 156 were very mild. Power dropped heavily after 6200 and she had trouble hitting the rev limiter. I can only imagine they must be milder on the 3.7. Or is it jus...

Now we're veeery far from the topic again and this has nothing to do with JJ's chassis weight (nor his engines). Not really - we're wondering how JJ is churning out 20% more power and torque from what you normally see from a 3.7l 24v 156 engine. We want to know the secret!!! And it's been suggested...

Yeah, will also be running total seal rings with the JE jobs. The JE pistons are actually chevy v8 pistons that we picked up cheap (they probably did a few laps, when one of the 8 pistons blew up, and they replaced the whole set (ie 7 good pistons remaining) that have been remachined for the alfa va...

Surely they would - they have to pass the MOT every year right?

Reliability?

JJ's motor is pretty much a modded street motor in its characteristics (just the motor that is) - apart from the fancy throttle bodies, but that shouldn't make anything explode or anything.

Catalytic converters traditionally rob 5% from the top end. Or am i talking crap here?

Re: 3.7 Milano Chassis Weight;

So, after seeing 375 horsepower (from 301.5 ATW - if you believe a 20% parasitic drive-line loss) and 440 Newton Meter torque, we decided to see where we are on weight on this thing at this stage... Out comes the corner scales; 2423 pounds total at this point includes the stock tank half full, the ...

Re: 3L Pistons - Can U Recommend?

Well, it's time for a rebuild! A swap, actually. I've located a clean 3L to put into my GTV6, and although a lot of re-build work has already been performed on it, the pistons are suspect, so I need to replace them while it's out of the car. I already have S cams, filter, CSC exhaust, MSD E-coil, e...
