motronic V6 timing

what does influence the timing on a 164 motronic based 3.0 12v engine?

rpm sensor of course, but is there anything else like the AFM or TPS?

thank you

Greg,These are the easiest performance engines to build.. The pistons are stock std. 30l pistons on a std. 2.5 crank. This drops the piston down by 1.85mm and gives a cr of 8.2 :1. hi barry, could you please explain me how you got this number. the 3.0 has 4.3mm bigger stroke than a 2.5, which...

Re: new type tensioner

will this work?

if yes, ill do a better stop plate under the correct angle, but it really limits the travel of the tensioner. how much is good? a little more or less or exactly corresponding the marking when installing its at 15C

what to do with 3 engines?

i have 2 2.5 engines from a 75(one is ok, other was exposed to rain for years) and one 3.0 from 164 with damaged crankshaft. what are your suggestions? to rebuild crankshaft of the 3liter and transplant the 164 engine to fit 75 using the parts from the 2.5 to use the lines and pistons and make a hyb...

Re: KKK K24-7000 turbo on Alfa 3.0 V6

( when was the last time you drove a RWD? :D ) You will remember last time I drove RWD on the "track": no brakes (now at least we know why), no steering (rack is completely gone), no suspension, no engine (2.0V6), but at least full driveshaft vibrations. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...

Re: KKK K24-7000 turbo on Alfa 3.0 V6

since im involved in this video ( holding the camera ) and my friend Tomo is cranking the GTV while talking about exhausts on trucks, i have to tell that we spent about one week of reviving the GTV and there is still plenty of job to be done. i suggest you first drive the car as it is now. ( when wa...

Re: Koni shocks and springs

i tried both , a 75 TS with bilstein and yellow koni on (max stiff). it seems that bilstein handles the standard springs better, they are stiff in bump and rebound. koni is quite soft in bump but much stiffer in rebound. konis would work great with upgraded springs, of course bilsteins too. id give ...

Re: engine knocking -- TS

problem solved. i put extra 10 liters of 100octane fuel and everything dissapeared. :D it seems they are mixing (we call it gazolin) condensate. it has less than 80 octanes. it can be used in older cars with huge retarding of ignition. the thing with one coil working is i guess when one spark fires,...
