Hey Jim G, Just remember that most of us are amature garage geeks and can only afford to do so much work on an engine. You proven methods are and will be helpful to most of us because they are worthwhile in terms of power and hopefully equally inexpensive, too!! (thanks for doin' the work for us!) :...

for the 3L 12v, they were just spring steel, round, and a pain in the ass to get in and out. An 'e' type ring would be better, if you find one to fit...

Got it, thanks Mats.. If I come across a Spider tranny for cheap, i will pick it up and answer this question... As a note: Three armed piece has a different center shaft diameter (spider v. GTV, Milano), but does have the same outer diameter since the arms fit the sliding synchro gear. The sliding s...

Mats: Thanks for the reply , but Try actually reading my read my post :!: I don't care about spiders, but there tons of cheap spider trannies in the junk yards. I know the main 1-5 gear shaft diameters are different, but that does not imply that the press on synchro gear is is also a smaller diamete...

Happy time again... Got the new tank and fittings and hose from Summit Racing. They are super fast at shipping and always get my order right. They were out of Goodyear filler hose (2 inch fits everything..tank filler and Alfa nozzle neck)...so I had to order from Parst America..they said 2-3 days on...

another good one in my Alfa saga...

wife backed into the left rear quarter with her 4runner and dented the Alfa pretty badly ( involving the complex angles of the sheet metal).

I'm just a 'little' pissed right now.......

She says it was an 'accident.....'

Put in new aluminum bung two days ago, and the annealed washers, and a touch of TFE. all seemd good until last night. With 10 gallons in, had a nice slow drip from the bung. Well that's it. I ordered a new tank. 15 gallon from RCI with angled inlet for filler hose. Will run braided line down to pump...

Kevin: do the torsion bars rotate freely in the 'extension' direction..in other words, does the little adjusting arm hit the bottom sheetmetal?

gears

anyone know if the outer ring gear from a spider tranny gear will fit a GTV6/milano tranny. I know that the three armed piece does not fit because the inner shaft hole diameter is different. BUT, the synchro friction rings and sliding gear are the same and do fit. it would make sense that the press ...
