My 1983GTV 6 engine revs out with ease but occasionally cuts out at 5200rpm, as if the rev limiter has been hit, I have replaced, leads, coil, rotor button, distribotor cap, plugs, and checked everything, could it be the ignition module? any ideas appreciated.

Get A 3 arm hub puller. take the horn cover off and put some padding around the steering wheel sections (all 3) and clamp onto the steering wheel and turn the shaft with a socket wrench, it will come off. Make sure the puller is long enough to reach the bolt so the 3 arms of the puller can be fitted.

The Ansa straight through arrived, they don't fit the non cat spec cars , the pipes are too short. I managed to get it connected but the sound was dreadful, it sounded like an old Bedford truck without an exhaust.
Perhaps with the catalytic cars it sounds great but not with the non cat cars.

I am in Australia and have had parts sent(rear calipers and front and rear pads) from Andy at Performatek, in the USA. He is great to deal with AND THE FREIGHT WAS CHEAP.I would try him for all your braking needs.

No heat shield now as it would need modification, but the headers are further away from the solenoid than the stock headers.
3ltr? You would need to compare their stock headers with the 2.5 stock headers I think the 3ltr and 2.5 may be the same, but not 100% sure.,

I must be deaf, I have tried to appreciate the intake noise but I can barely hear it, the exhaust noise is another matter, beautiful, my centre pipes are on the way, if they are too noisy I will put the centre resonator back on.

I put a set on my car, they fit perfectly and don't hang down as much as the stock ones. Best of all is the performance increase.The hardest part was connecting them to the downpipes which I think you will need as well.

Has anybody tried the straight through Ansa centre section pipes without a resonator in it, I am trying to get hold of one. Is it boomy and droney?

I have just purchased a leather gear shift boot and handbrake gaiter from Highwood Alfa the UK, 15 pounds each. Chris is really helpful and you get a near instant response.Postage is really cheap too. They fit perfectly and look great.

Finally, after a total of 6 litres of brake fluid I now have excellent brakes.I also purchased a new rear brake regulator as well just in case the old one was faulty.
The Porterfield brake pads I purchased from Performatek are fantastic, I highly recommend them. Thanks to all who offered advice.

Hi Bruce, the brake nipples are new as I put on reconditioned rear calipers but I will check to be sure they are not blocked.

I have purchased more brake fluid and hope to get more air out. \ I didn't realise that the flex was a feature of the braking system, there is at least nearly 20% free play before it becomes hard, it is as if there is a lot of slack in the system. I will bleed again tomorrow and see if I can improve...
