For what it's worth I don't think this car is a 1983, I believe it is a 1984. It has '84 wheels, the '84 contrasting paint stripe at the rockers, and the larger post-'84 emblem on the grille.

What is the year code in the VIN?

VIN is of the form: ZARAA6690E100xxxx

A=1980
B=1981
etc

You can really see the "family" resemblance.

And both are beautiful!

Last weekend with the Mid-Atlantic Alfa Romeo Club:

Virginia International Raceway South Course: 1:48

Just out of curiosity, why would Bosch be reluctant to release this information?

Summit Point (Main Course): 1:55.83 (Hey it's a tired, stock '84 with 195/60R15 Pirelli P6000s on it! I have Greg Gordon's hose kit but I guess that didn't help :roll: perhaps I should have purchased red instead of black hoses! :wink: ) But seriously, anybody have a benchmark for a transaxle Alfa ar...

Re: Weight, etc.

BTW, never advocated this for a street car, just brought it up because I <<thought>> people might be interested. My bad, I guess. Reale, Many of us ARE very interested in what you have accomplished (even if we will likely never do a mod like this on our own street cars). I am always interested in s...

If you look on the old site at this thread: http://www.alfagtv6.com/discus/messages/200/429.html?TuesdayApril420000117pm (or just search for "push rod" (in quotes)) you find a discussion that the noise may be from the valve train and not the bottom end. A quote from that thread from someon...

First, after re-reading my post I want to say that I was not trying to insult our youthful colleagues who enjoy Japanese-engineered products, BUT much of what appears on the cars of enthusiasts under 30 is for style and not for performance. Take what you see with a HUGE grain of salt. (Both stock an...

If you are talking about the '84 model year (the only year with the dark contrasting paint along the rockers) I **believe** it is AR763 "Grigio Nube Metallic", but it may be AR755 "Gray Poly". (The paint code sticker under the rear hatch only gives the main body color not the con...

Naive question: How can you pump more volume without increasing the oil pressure? The only way I can see to do it is to enlarge the oil galleries in the block. (Or decrease the viscosity of the oil...) It seems as if a pump with 25% more volume would produce 25% more pressure (oil being virtually in...
