Re: GTV6 3.0 badges

Take a picture of it straight on with a ruler graduated in mm next to it so I can scale and I'll see what I can come up with.

Re: GTV6 3.0 badges

Possibly but I need a good photo of the standard badge to work from. It needs to be taken straight on, not from any odd angle. I don't have an original badge to measure or copy.
It will probably cost more.

GTV6 3.0 badges

I have made a couple of rear badges for 3L and 3.2L powered GTV6s.
They are machined aluminium and have automotive double sided tape on the back.
$70ea + postage.
I can also do other capacity numbers like GTV6 3.7
PM me and I can get a price for postage.

Re: Inlet Manifold Design

I went with the 164 style setup with a modified 164 plennum on Dads GTV and something similar but a little more modified (custom runners and bigger plenum) on my GTV I was originally considering 2 x 164 plenums - 1 per head with 2 throttles and putting 3 pipes joining the 2 plenums (fills the spare ...

Re: Limits of 24V engine?

Also, compare the 3.0 24v motor to a Suzuki TL1000R or Ducati 996 motorbike engine. Similar bore & stroke (98x66 - not quite the same). The big one is rod length - Alfas are short - you need more deck height. Stock TL-R is good for 135hp per litre at 8500 rpm with a 9500-10000 cut out. With the ...

Re: 4 cam heads from a 164 mated to a 3.0 motor ?

You may as well use the 24v motor.
Swapping heads won't do it, you need the pistons and more.
24v swaps are not uncommon now, look around the forum for a number of different ones all of which fit under a stock bonnet. It can even be done to fit under a 2L bonnet.

Re: Power steering into '87 GTV6

GTV6s aren't heavy in the steering anyway. I run 8" wide wheels and a 12" steering wheel with a manual rack and you can turn it into a parking space with one hand (almost). Get your castor and camber right and it'll lighten up - it's all to do with tyre contact patch. You couldn't pay me t...

Re: Very weird coolant leak WTF?

That's definitely the water pump behind that bracket.
Seal has or is failing.
A pain to do it but now is better than on the side of the road.

Re: I've seen a piece of Heaven...

My wife thinks it looks like a cartoon character beetle ("Bugs Life" style). Even Australian females look like they won't buy it.
I certainly wouldn't buy it, I'd rather save for the rest of my life to never afford the 8C.

Re: Race Animal ?

Hey Kev,
I'd love to get my hands on that bonnet but it's a bit of a hike from my place to yours.
I'll see if there's another way around getting it here.
Love the pics !!

Re: GTV6 wont start- no injector pulse

Are you sure that it is a problem with the ecu not earthing the injectors. First 2.5 I built wouldn't pulse the injectors - turned out to be a pin in one of the injector plugs pushed back into the plug housing and shorting all 6 (they group fire on L-Jet). Second was the 3.0 for my Dad's car - the i...

Re: How high do you rev?

Ever hear of an Italian tune up - the whole idea is to blow out the cobwebs (carbon and other crap). I used the theory of don't let them form in the first place - Italian tune up every drive :D . Good quality oil regularly does help - I used to do a 5000 km oil and filter change. The old 2L was move...
