Re: Wheels

Hi 4SFED4. My rear rims are 255 mm wide do you think that 225 tyres would be ok. The tyres would be 30 mm thinner . :?: 2 websites for you. tyrestretch.com and rimtuck.com You can see photos of people doing similar things. Here is a link to https://tyrestretch.com/10.0-225-50-R15/10.0-225-50-R15/ f...

Re: Wheels

If you car is lowered, I am confident those will not fit, too tall. Have you looked at a 245 40R15? Should be no problem even on a lowered car. I know they make that size. PS: You can go with a narrower tire on a wide wheel and still get that tire and wheel look. I am not suggesting a drastic unders...

Yes, SO many more options with that PCD. Just re-drilled the Alfa hubs accordingly and never looked back!

Re: Wheels

Hi 4SFED4, Your GTV with the BBS looks really nice. :D With these wheels on your car what is the distance between the tyre to the quarter panel. :? Can't give a pic right now... I can slide my fingers in between the tire and lip up to the hand. A 9" rim will fit no problem given proper offset....

BBS LM copy by JNC Wheels. Someday I will get the real thing though I did look and could not find the size I wanted from BBS. 18-22" no problem.

Re: Wheels

225 35 R17 on 8.5" Rims. No metal work, no rubbing. I think they are a 30mm offset and I have a 3mm front spacer to clear the caliper (Wilwood) and a 10mm rear spacer for looks.

Re: Which would you choose and why?

How far could the capacity of the 2 litre motor be taken? With 2.2 or more litres of engine and a well sized (as small as you could get away with) turbo, you'd broaden the torque curve of the engine noticably. Really speeking, if you were able to add 10% more engine capacity, then you should be abl...

Re: Which would you choose and why?

Sorry for any confusion... Jim goes by "4SFED" and I go by "4SFED4"... my name is Brian and I am the owner of the 78 GTV with a Steck built turbo motor. Working with Jim we first built the car in 1995. The first iteration has an on center turbine housing and a log manifold and wh...

Re: Which would you choose and why?

Good responses all, remember it say's "road car" in the poll. The Nord turbo has about 50K turbo miles and while it is still going strong I was offered a 155 TS head for a price I could not refuse so it got me thinking of what to do. While the V6 sound is incomparable, I think I will stick...

Which would you choose and why?

Not trying to evaluate ALL options or power levels. Clearly a 3.0 Busso could be made to have more that 450BHP. Thinking about going to a Twinspark head but the sound of a V6 always calls to me but the weight... oh the weight! hahaha

I have helped Michael make banner graphics in the past, the one above and the one of Barry's GTV6. I am happy to continue to help in that regard.

Re: 166 24v into 116 GTV

Wow, those Toyota discs are so inexpensive, incredible. They come in both rubber and alu... wonder what problem they were trying to solve with the aluminum. Guess I have some Googling to do.
