Re: 24v Ignition advance map
After reading this, I suddenly realized that you could put a compression type sensor in one of the engine mounts. You'll need to calibrate it and fiddle to get it to be sensitive and in working range, but the general idea should work.

Nooo... leave it original. Every time I see one of those totally colored in 155s it looks like a cheap bodge job after crash damage.

Put it away for a while and pick it up after the summer. You need some mojo to start this project again and you won't get that overnight, unless your numbers come up.

Re: Another mad 155 twin turbo project from the same creator
Any chance the owner will come on here himself, or maybe on the 155club forum to share his project and the previous one? The RWD one is quite the mythical car in 155-land.

Re: Blue Smoke @ High RPM
keep the 2.5. a quick hone, set of rings and valve seals, crank and rod bearings , reshim, new belts, and back in for another 50,000+ miles.... pop in a set of verde cams for that extra little ooommph... That is, assuming the problem is in the lower block, not in the heads. Best to check/fix those ...

Re: Ooops, I dropped a valve
Good observation! You may be able to tell from the bits of seat you'll recover if it has come out before or after the valve failure. If there are signs of scoring on the outside of the seat, it must have been moving by itself before it came out. If it's just shattered but no scoring, it's probably b...

Re: Blue Smoke @ High RPM
Those are rather low. Are you certain you don't have any bent valves or a busted head gasket as well?
Don't toss the 2.5. They'll get rare and people here sometimes get nostalgic and want the 2.5 back in their car.

Re: Spring Rate to Damper Ratios???
Since you guys are talking about dampers and ratios, I have a question for you. I have installed new adjustable (rebound) GAZ shocks in the rear in my GTV6. The rear of the car was standing on the jackstands, and the wheels weren't touching the ground. I wanted to check, how the adjustment really w...

Re: 4-cylinder turbo performance
Ah so that's where the parts went. I'm being strict to myself, no new personal projects until I finish at least 2 of the 3 I have standing outside the workshop. Otherwise, I'd have been all over that lot myself.

WhizzMan from the Netherlands
Hi there! I'm WhizzMan. I live in an Amsterdam suburb. I work in IT, have a workshop I share with a Renault guy and I, unfortunately, don't own any GTV at all. I do however own one or more Alfa's since 1999, non stop. The current collection is 4 155s, a 145 and a 146. This may vary, since one of the...

Re: Ooops, I dropped a valve
Older sodium filled valves sometimes break at the fuse point. If this was caused by overheating or not is hard to tell from just these pictures. Because the valve ended rattling around, it's hard to say even if you have close ups of the break surfaces. The breaking is a combination of weak design, f...
