Re: Greetings from an 83!

Wasn't sure what effect the new injectors would have on how the v6 runs - but holy cow what a difference! On first start the engine even sounded different, much smoother. Spun up onto the freeway with favorite s-turn onramp and man the 3.0 has never come on like that! :D Time to celebrate and order ...

Cutting Out Gremlin Caught and Crushed!

:D The intermittent Cut Out Gremlin has been caught, thrown in a bag and CRUSHED! You know the one, car is running perfectly then just cuts out and dies or surges for no apparent reason. And of course it wouldn't just die for good. Nooo, that would be too easy to diagnose then! A few years back it w...

Re: Greetings from an 83!

A good day of getting something done on the v6 :) yanked the old injectors, put in the new and replaced the fuel regulator while I was at it. We'll see how it runs tomorrow...

Re: RADIATOR FAN FUNCTIONS

My '83 (US Model) originally was as you described - one fan comes on at temp. the second fan kicks on when you turn the ac on. It has the parcel shelf under the glove box (is not a Tropicair equipped). Years ago I changed it so that both fans come on when the engine reaches temp., but I forget exact...

Re: Yankin' a Tank

:D Full tank of gas and ready to use it up! Best off all... NO leaks! Putting up a few last photos, tucked the low pressure fuel filter for the main line to the pump just back of the standard Bosch filter, it fit real nice :) The 90-degree Earls fitting that threaded into the tank lined up just righ...

Re: Helloo from Serbia! (My 24v conversion)

Good Vid - My wife overheard it and came over to watch, lamenting "Ooh, I miss my Milano, we could buy another one!"

Of course what's stopping me is that it takes me two months to take care of something on the gtv6 that should only take two weeks! GV

Re: New to Alfas and GTV6's

with good oil (and all measurements checked on rebuild) probably pump failure. 2zig says he just rebuilt engine, but most people don't put in new oil pumps..myself included :( No new oil pump on a rebuild ? That is crazy :!: Keep at it 2zig, you've got a good looking gvt6 and the 3.0 will make up f...

Re: Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter

Now THAT wasn't a pretty sight - I am more than relieved to have those new injectors. I take it that the #2 injector is what could wash a cylinder down or maybe just go lean as hell I guess... GV

Re: xrad's gtv6

All this talk about chrome - I've got rashes forming already :P

If you go all the way with it, window trim, etc, as on an Alfetta GT I think it will come together well — bumpers alone not so sure, but you'll be losing some weight. GV

Re: Yankin' a Tank

Thanks guys. I've owned this gtv6 for 21 years and even with periodic fuel additives over its life there was still rust in the tank. No sludge, and not a ton of rust, but enough rust to cause running problems. These cars are now all pushing 25 years old, flushing/pulling and cleaning the tank is bec...
