Re: Flywheel Lock

thanks guys,

I took a electric impact gun to it.... pulled the trigger for about half a second, and it was off! I guess I really over thought this one.
lets hope the rest of the tear down and rebuild goes just like this!

ps. Mats, 41mm was right.

Re: Flywheel Lock

thanks Mats, i'll give that a try.

if that doesn't work, is there any harm in wedging a pipe between some of the flywheel bolts and the skid it's sitting on?

also, what size socket do I need for it?

thanks

Flywheel Lock

Hi all,

I'm just about to start tearing apart my 24v. the engine is sitting on a pallet ready to be put up on the stand, but i want to crack the crank bolt loose before mounting it to the stand.

whats the best way to lock the flywheel to keep the engine from turning over?

Thanks

Koni yellow or Bilstein - Coil Over Sleeves

Hey all, I have a post in the Track Prep section about getting ready to track my '84 GTV6 3.0, but i thought i would as this more specific question here. I bought my car this summer, and plan to track it next season. Mainly Time Attacks Competitons and open track days. While this isn`t a full raceca...

Re: Track Car Preperation

I made a post in the suspension section, talking about converting to coil overs. Here is the link: http://alfagtv6.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4478 as for the rest of my track prep. I found a source for drop spindles, I am thinking of going with a 1.1 drop (my options being 0.8", 0.9&qu...

Re: My rebuild!

nice build! the car looks great!!!

Quick question about the PACE knuckle risers. how do they compare with flipping the LCA? Does this give the same effect? It looks a lot easier to install, and seams to be reversible if needed.

thanks, and keep up the steller build!

Re: Track Car Preperation

are the 30mm bars a good size though? or should i just go for the RS system? as for the car, it will have full interior, and no AC. Heartercore, may get removes and repaced with a simple and light defrost fan. Sound deadening material may be removed. and some seam welding might be done when i got a ...

Re: Track Car Preperation

Right, So I was originally thinking of going with poly bushings For the upper and lower control arms, sway bars, shock mounts, and watts link. cylindral bearing for DeDion triangle. Front sway bar from my Milano verde, and 30mm torsion bars. I have both Koni yellows and bilstiens so I could try eith...

Re: 3.2 conversion parts in North America

i was thinking more along the lines of doing both  i was planning on rebuliding the lower end, with new pistions, sleeves, rings bearings etc. but if i was in there i might as well go a bit bigger, then supercharge it a little later on. are the parts that expensive to get over here? boring to 3...

3.2 conversion parts in North America

Does anyone know where to find 3.2L parts in North America, or places that will ship to Canada?

I have a 3.0 24V that is already converted to RWD, but will be opening up the bottom end, and want to look into converting the engine to a 3.2.

Thanks a lot!

Re: TS transaxle into GTV

I'm also looking to do this.
I just swapped out my transaxle from my 84 GTV6 for a freshly rebuilt one from a Milano platinum.

Will a sending unit amplifier from a later GTV6 work?

Re: most reliable way to get a 330-350HP motor

i think this sounds like a plan, i can save the money on boring or going 3.2 and put it into the supercharger!

its time for the research to begin, if anyone has good supercharging tips, please feel free!
