Re: Help-removing lower ball joint? Greg Gordon there?

What I do is that I lossen the nut on the ball joint. I then start hitting the side of the component with a ball pein hammer that the ball joint goes through. The vibtation from the hammer striking causes the ball joint to release after a few hits. I learned theis from the english A Car Is Reborn se...

Wheels

I have had some 5 spoke Style auto wheels I bought from Alfa Ricambi on my 83 CA GTV6 for over 20 years. Recently one of the center caps that cover the bolts fell off and was lost. Since it is highly unlikely that I will find a replacement I am wondering when I replace the wheels should I stay with ...

AC Switch

I have a new (used) dash board ac switch to replace my worn out one. There is a long copper tube coming out the back that goes into a tar like blob underneath the dash board (passenger side). Before I dig into it I thought I would see if anyone had been there done that so I would know what to expect...

Engine Cutting Out

I have a problem with my 83 CA GTV6 (California 83 GTV6 is essentially an 84 including recaro style seats except it has the the 81-83 gear ratio) that I have owned since new. The engine intermently cuts out. The engine is a standard 2.5 with a Pandoras box (been in since 1987 or so) and Greg Gordons...

Window Trim

The black window trim on my 83 CA GTV6 is chipping off. As I remember the window trim metal is stainless and paint does not adhere well. Does any one have any solutions for this? I am not sure what the original finish is but it could be a tape.

Brake Proportioning Valve

On a Alfa BB thread about improving GTV6 braking it was mentioned that braking could be improved on the earlier cars by putting in a later brake propotioning valve. Does anyone on this board have experience with this modification? I notice that IAP lists two valves; one through car 6831 (81-85) and ...

WTB Style Auto Wheel Center

I was wondering if anyone out in GTV6 land had a Style auto wheel center for sale or the emblem that is attached to the center. They were sold by Alfa Ricambi years ago. Had a blowout some months ago and while the plastic wheel center was fine the emblem in the center which is glued on fell off. Unf...

Heater valve

My heater valve is still functioning but I would prefer to be proactive and replace it before things get wet on the passenger side. I have seen a picture on BB of a modification of a spider heater valve that it was said that 'Jim' makes up. Does anyone know who this jim is and how I might contact hi...

I asked Jason of Alfissiomo if through his euro contacts if he could get GTV6/Milano clutches as these seem to be hard to find. He does have access to both the Milano single plate and earlier twin plate clutches. The prices are CC132900 - $1,150.21 incl. 2 discs CC451002 - 672.50 incl. 1 disc ETA wh...

AC Condensor

Has anyone found a suitable modern condensor that will fit in a GTV6? I have upgraded my system with a rotary compressor and a fan in front of the condensor (and keeping freon) but it is still inadquate for temps above 90 (normal at this time of year in Utah). I know I can get one made up by Jason o...

Gregory, Its a pretty straight forward install. The only thing is to keep track of the light cans as they are speicic for each light. That was the only area I got confused on. As with all of Greg's products its first rate(if I could only afford the turbo!). Terry Johnston 1983 CA GTV-6 (Orginal Owne...

Greg, The only part that I got a bit confused was that the the light cans are different for the high and low beams. Caused me a bit of confusion until I figured it out. Otherwise it was clear sailing. I will try to check the lights out at night in the next day or so. I am just a bit concerned about ...
