The photo is great and now that I see it I understand the illustrations you posted. It would be great if you could post photos of your other tools. I have access to a lathe and other tools but I also have a good machinist in mind who can do wonders. There is nothing in your first photo that I do not...

Injector Fuel Hose

THis is from the Alfa Digest from a few years ago. The sourcec is Joe Elliott. My experience mirrors his in that the guys in BMW parts departments are not very helpful. He notes that their 8 x 13 is actually the proper 7.5MM BMW Store: 1 meter (3.28ft), 13 31 1 469 781 "8x13" fuel hose, $1...

Speedo Error

I am surprised no one more knowledgable than me replied but here goes. I always expected Alfa speedos to be incorrect. Some one either on this forum or alfadigest posted a link to the Universal Speedometer Signal Interface here: http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=12...

Gear Lash

TectoTeam:

This is very helpful. Can you post your proceedures for setting these clearances and possibly photos of your tools. I have a Milano LSD that I plan to put into my GTV-6 one day soon.

Alternative to converting

Alfadog,

My experience (not all with Alfas) is that cleaning out all the years of dirt and old grease and then re-lubing the mechanism saves motors. Windows work a lot faster too.

Historic Plates

I am trying to secure Historic plates for my 1985 GTV-6 in Maryland, USA. I have evidence that this has been done before and all the necessary forms. What I lack is "supporting documentation verified by the manufacturer" that the car is one of 1,000 or fewer. There is a document on the fir...

Headliner

IAP Lists a headliner for the GTV-6. Haven't seen it but they do stand behind their stuff.

A/C Condenser

The real problem may not be at the condenser. Look at some of the other posts from earlier this summer and you will see criticism of the design of the Behr evaporator unit, duct work and fans. That said, you will also find links to several manufacturers who have web sites where you can pick an appro...

Fixed Tensioner

Check that the auxiliary shaft drive gear (or toothed pulley) is correctly seated against the shaft. The factory proceedure may state to remove this pulley even though it is not really necessary and it is easy to reinstall it with it not properly seated. I have done this myself although it was such ...

Scott, I suggest you revisit what ever other work you did. Could something you did be fouling the tie rods or tires, etc? I know from experience that when I work on the brakes (for instance) and the steering goes wrong that I probably did something wrong when I repaired the brakes. Probably clear as...

Hot Start

Adam. The header comes out relatively easily IF the studs at the down pipes are good. You will be ordering them and the appropriate nuts (try Centerline or DiFatta) if not and they are not too hard to replace once the manifold is out. You will need new gaskets at the head. The heatshield over the st...

Drive Line Repairs

Scott, You will find the GTV-6 is pretty straight forward to repair. I did my driveline in about 3 or 4 hours this fall with help from my young sons (10 & 12)? I suggest you buy a Cardisk CD and read-up on whatever you tackle here 1st. The orientation of the driveline is critical to maintaining ...

U bend

I don't think you need to replicate the bend. First of all you have the option of making a longer run and a gentler bend. I know that Hans Milo does this and also installs a "pre-filter" to keep crud from the old tank from getting into the fuel pump and killing it. You can find Hans on the...

3 Point Belts

Pancho,

There are mounting points already there for three point belts. I don't see why you would need to move the separator unless you car is different from US spec ones?

Try Difatta, they had a few when I bought mine last year. Ask for the parts guy and might plan on buying a couple of hoses or belts or something to make it worth their while.... http://www.difatta.com/ or 800-638-7656 I bought the lenses from Centerline but didn't discover I needed the screws for a ...
