Re: JK's v6 book

I don't know the diameter. The inlets are 1.5" and exit is 2", but the volume is very small. One side is a parallel 3-1 and the other is like a triangular 3-1 collector. The supersprint collectors, visually, look a lot nicer. Some people say collectors aren't that important. But if you spe...

Re: JK's v6 book

Could be true. Look at the S14 (M3) race or even street engines. They have short but fat primaries. Good for top end power for high revving engines, which is where most 4-valve engines make their power anyway. With some of the new lobe designs, you can make the 2-valve V6 make power all the way to 7...

Re: JK's v6 book

If the car has mildly ported heads and stock valves, what is the point of big headers? Jim's car had oversized valves and a mega port job. As long as the stock cast iron manifold's crazy entry angle is eliminated, then you should be ok with any headers out there. Doesn't Glenwood have something clos...

Re: JK 24v 3liter ..at last!

BTW Mats, that idea is definitely better. Maybe a ring split in 2 for ease of installation. Maybe mount it to the chassis to contain the drivehsaft when it decides to explode.

JK,

I can get access to the laser pointing device and Kev has made one up too.

I guess not BHPs are the same. Some are draft horses and some are shetland ponies.

Re: JK 24v 3liter ..at last!

JK, We all know how conservative you are, and dyno on a conservative dyno too. As a matter of fact, I saw a video of a Linder built M3 2.3, and he zoomed into the dyno screen, P-wheel 231+ hp, P-engine 293 bhp!!!! The gearbox must get pretty damn hot then. Just an anecdotal point. On the track the c...

Re: JK 24v 3liter ..at last!

Ok, maybe those splined shaft is more desireable for some due to "ease of fit". But now I think the fixed alfetta, early 75v6 style is a little safer. Btw, Jim, do you think properly aligning the shaft, engine and gearbox together would reduce the risk of the shaft blowing up? Also im stro...

Re: I experienced the ultimate today

I wonder if the day will come when people here will say "please please, I beg you, I'll trade my 4 piston Brembos and 330mm rotors, for your stock calipers and 269mm rotors!"

1982 GTV6 Racing in Snetterton

Found an old one. I'm trying to find the Rouse racing and winning the 1982 BTCC.

Re: JK's v6 book

After reading that copy off google books, it seems the runner is the biggest restriction, even at 38mm ID, it's still a little small. I just remembered that I have Beninca's custom 42mm OD intake runners meant for the 24V RWD conversion. I think I can mate them to the 164 12V injector plates. Bore t...

OK, every member on this forum is required to buy one. Pop quiz next week on Chapter 2. This will constitute 50% of your total grade.

MD will fail cuz he is 2 cylinders short and 2 sparks too many :)

Re: JK's v6 book

Giuli, Will both sides fit without major modification? The one in your photo looks like the rear 164 manifold. Might be a project for me :) Replace my SZ headers. The CSC looks like a real pain to fit., and I'm very wary about the 3-hole gasket....I don't think there even is a gasket there!!! PS Sch...
