Re: Drive Shaft CV's keep breaking
We drove another 6h endurance race yesterday. Both inner CV boots were ruined again.. Probably it's due to high temperature, so is there any high temp boots available? Yes, I have cooled brake discs and some air ducting too.

Re: Ooops, I dropped a valve
Now it happened to us. I was driving endurance race qualification session and everthing seemed to be just right, but then engine sayd snap crackle pop and lost power as a smoke seen on rear mirror. The failure is 1:1 to Maldis pictures. Engine was rebuilt and olny two dyno sessions were driven befor...

Re: Ooops, I dropped a valve
How typical failure that is on Alfa V6 engines? Have someone else had similar valve snapping? If it's really rare, then maybe it's just bad luck.

Re: Some more brake upgrades for the 116-Barry
quite a bit of leverage now on the oe cast fe parts...do you feel any fear of failure? Wheel torque should stay the same... I guess xrad ment leverage for new attaching points on gaborbs solution. One Finnish guy thought the same idea. If I recall right, I calculated that the M12 bolts would snap, ...

Re: Twin Spark Engines
I guess you looked wrong scale for the torque. Torque y-axis scale is on the right side of the picture. So if you compare that ca. 205Nm to Bricks value, I quess we're at the same ballbark. Yeah, I'd like to get that 200 Nm also at 500rpm lower engine speed, or ideally already at 3500rpm. But that w...

Re: Twin Spark Engines
We have tried VVT with limited operation range few times, but haven't been able to gain any real benefits. It's useful to make smooth idle with cams retarded, and then set them back to right position when going. In theory it could been used to stretch some torque range, but we haven't used that poss...

Re: Twin Spark Engines
Both indeed. First there was straight through type at the middle of the pipe and then baffled muffler at the rear end. Now I replaced the straight though muffler with terminator, but still there's some torque loss. I also tried to remove the rear end without big effect, but on that time I had the st...

Re: Twin Spark Engines
I've found out that my rear exhaust setup is loosing a quite much torque and power between 3500 and 5000 rpm. From 5000 to 7000 it seems to work just fine. With open collectors the power at 4000 was something like 10kW higher.. Is it so that 60mm OD exhaust pipe and 63mm muflers are already getting ...

Re: 75 TS or 155 TS 16V Widetrack for track car?
Those are the most common problems on these 16V engines. They tend to consume some oil, and the drivers doesn't check the oil level. The combination leads to bearing failures sooner or after. The cam belt won't last long and may fail even way before the 60 000km. I personally use to open the cam bel...

Re: Limits of 24V engine?
My project have been on hold for a while. Have had too much to do with other cars + other bad explanations for not doing anything.. I hope to get it activated early on next year, but we'll see. Nice pics from Alfa engine in hydroplane. Do you have any information what have been done to bottom end? D...

Re: Performance on road, 80-120 km/h
Marco, I added the result on the list, but at that speed range the accuracy of the stated time is critical. Also road inclinations and speedometer errors are important. 0.2s error in time would mean ca. 15hp here, thus higher speed range is suggested. Anyway, the car is fast

Re: 75 TS or 155 TS 16V Widetrack for track car?
What about the weght of the 155 TS compared to 75 TS? If removing unneeded parts and installing the rollgage and only drivers seat, 75 will easily go to around 1000kg. How about 155?
