Okay. Well it looks like I'll only be taking this engine if I get an amazingly good deal on it. Thanks for the responces!

Well, I got the slave cylinder out. It seems like the cylinder itself is in good condition. The piston also seems perfect, except for the rubber seal around its waist. Can I buy just that o-ring? Or is this a full cylinder replacement? I felt around again inside the hole, and I still couldn't find a...

164S 3.0l

I came across a 164S today that was being parted out. The engine is not running. The owner told me: "The gasket is out, the water got inside the engine. " First, I'm assuming that it's the head gasket that he's talking about. From this description, what kind of damage should I expect in th...

Okay, well I got under the car today and felt around inside the transmission. I could feel a bolt and nut (I think) right inside the hole, but it didn't feel like the pivot at all. Other than that, I could feel something that could turn (seems like what the fork would push against). From this, it ap...

Well the fork looks pretty good to me, but do you have any insights?

I'll try getting out a bigger hammer as soon as I finish my homework (don't you hate that).

Slave Cylinder

So last Wednesday I was driving home from a soccer practice and I went to push the clutch in and about half way down, it suddenly went to the floor. I was able to pump up pressure once, then parked the car and came back for it a couple of hours later. The pedal now has no pressure at all, and there ...

Haha, I've already managed to drop two sockets in there. One of them I was able to get out, but I haven't found the other yet.

Does the trunk "deck" (the carpeted panels that are blocking the way) come out?

Rear trim

Are there any tricks to removing the rear triangular trim pieces on the GTV6? I've tried reaching up from below the rear deck but can't get in there. Am I missing anything? Thanks!

You could also fabricate your own bumper shock. Just get some flat plate metal and a small piece of steel tubing and weld it up. I did that to replace mine (I made them shorter for the euro look like sh0rtlife said), but you could just make them to the same specs as the original.

To update you guys, I ended up buying a cut and sewn carpet set from Fryer's Auto Upholstery Kits . It came in two pieces, and were fairly good quality. To be really honest, the fit wasn't what I was looking for. For cut and sewn, it was probably very good, especially in the front. I ended up instal...

Well, I've triple checked the switch for wear and loose contacts, they're fine. I've also checked that the bulbs have good connections (I had to bend the left ones before I took the new measurements). Do the grounds run all the way back to the cabin before they're grounded? On the wiring diagram it ...

Well I was thinking late last night about the problem and realized that the measurements that I took were probably way off because there was no load on the wires, so I replaced the bulbs and tested again. This time, it makes more sense: Left: 4.9V at 0.215A gives us 1.05W Right: 13.3V at 1.5A gives ...

I haven't tried any of these, but according to the Schuck's Website, at least one of these should fit.

Turn Signal Intermitance Switch

On my turn signals, the right side works perfectly, but the left side has only a faint glow to it. The right side blinks on and off, and the left side does not. For the intermitance relay on these cars, is there a threshold current or voltage that the relay will not blink on and off? I've measured t...
