Okay, after reading my owners manual (should've checked that first, page 46), I see that the A/C system is tied into the car's main coolant system. There is most definitely coolant in the car, so do I need to drain it entirely before I remove the heater box?

You know, I have absolutely no clue. How can I check? I've never even looked at an A/C circuit before. What do I need to do specially to remove the heater box in an air conditioned car?

I'm going to start looking this up immediately after I post this. Thanks guys!

Okay, I've got the heater box almost out of there! However, I can't seem to disconnect the plumbing that goes to the back of it. I can see the two hoses covered in some kind of black insulating tape (I think), and then a third hose, probable a drain hose coming out of the bottom. For the two in that...

The serial is 5079, so it must be one of the latter 1983 cars. Is the serial number just for this year? Or is it the production totals?

The VIN's year code is D, so that would be 83? Maybe it was a late 83 car?

Okay, I finally got around to looking at the heater box, and I can't figure out how to get it out of there. Am I supposed to drop just the bottom half of the box (see the first picture)? Or should I try to take out the whole box as a whole? I'm assuming that the heater plumbing will have to be disco...

David, When I pulled my steering wheel, I found a high tensile strength threaded rod (6mm) and cut it in half. I then found a large bolt (with a flat head bigger than the central shaft). After that, just find a piece of steel that you can cut (it doesn't have to be that big either). Just make your o...

My school just got a sand blaster. Would sand blasting the valve covers and plenum do any damage? I'll post pictures this weekend.

Painting Valve Covers and Plenum

I want to paint the valve covers and the plenum of my 2.5l V6. Are there any special things to watch out for? Any special paints? When I go to remove the plenum, is there anything specific that I need to do, other than remove and mark each and every hose that goes to it? For the valve covers, am I g...

Well,
I couldn't figure anything else out, so I used some small black zip ties, and it worked very well. They don't look as nice as the original rivets of course, but with the covers on, you can't see it.

Turn Signal Switch Spring

In my conquest to fix the headlight/turn signal switches, I managed to loose the spring that connects the two sides of the turn signal lever. Does anyone have anything available?

If I can't find one, I guess a rubber band will have to work!

Headlight Switch Rivets

Hey guys, My headlight switch was broken, the stalk came out and the electrical contacts were mangled. I've managed to repair most of it (I think), but I need to find a way to hold the two parts of the housing together. I read on the AlfaBB that you can use a small piece of copper tube to replace th...

I'll go check the local store tomorrow and see if they have anything.

Turn Signal Screws

Are the original, amber plastic screws that hold the turn signal lenses (U.S. bumper, not sure about Euro) available anywhere?

If not, is there an easy replacement?

Thanks!
