Fan resistor

Hey all, i've just been messing with the car lately (getting read to sell it!) :( . I noticed the resistor for the heater fan on the firewall today. That only controls speeds 1 and 2, correct? What controls the high speed on the heater fan? My memory is hazy on this one, isn't it wired direct, anyon...

164 Parts Car

Alfa 164L Parts Car.

I need to get rid of this car, it is located in Northern Central, VA.

Motor is blown; timing belt jumped with valves impacting pistons. Windshield is cracked and drivers side window is gone. Anyone interested? Let me know...otherwise to the yard it goes!

I think you are dropping the return line. Should be two hoses going back. Are you not seeing the second line?

Thanks Greg for the info. I haven't checked to see how much variation there was between 735I alternators, probably not a ton, but won't know until I have a chance to research.

It looks like a tight fit in the pic, you've got a bit more going on than just the alternator in that picture though!

Greg, To be honest, I don't care what car its from, I've just seen on this board that somone has completed a 164 conversion with some modifications. I do wish someone had a procedure, because I do think its worth while. I have never been a big fan of the alternators in these cars. A more readily ava...

I'm interested in the headlight upgrade; the 164 alternator upgrade seems like a worthy upgrade as well. Anyone got specific details on what you need to do the bracket? Is it linked on the main site?

Alright, enough thread high-jacking...sorry greg. Someone should make 164 brackets....

Just installed an adjustable voltage regulator(Transpo)...that was fun!!! Now anyone know which way to turn the screw to turn it up. Don't like getting burned by the exhaust manifold everytime I try and reach down there. Would rather know before I start turning the wrong way! Thanks in advance! Rob

Just because your fuel pump is fine, does not mean your fuel pressure is fine. I've been through this one myself. Could be clogs in the line to or crimps in the return line. That being said, if you suspect the relay then you're probably having other issues. I know you've tested the relay, but do you...

What is the fuel pressure at the rail?

When it runs, what does the exhaust look like?

I'd try the guys up at alfa's unlimited in Conn. They've been great and might have a better lead than us on an original.

Should be three speeds...intermittent, slow, and fast. I used to have only 2 speeds until my fiancee broke the stalk on my unit and I replaced it. Now it has three.
