I agree on the WIX, but sometimes they are hard to find. Napa Gold is a WIX filter and are pretty easy to locate.

Hi Greg, when you finish with the headlight kit, how about putting together an electric waterpump conversion kit?? I bet it would be a big seller...

I recently figured it out. I had the thermo time switch connector plugged into the FI temp sensor. They are both on the thermostat housing and have the same exact connector. Technically, they are color coded, but on a 20 yr old motor everything is the same brownish color. Since I switched them, it h...

It seems that the general consensus is that a plugged hydraulic tensioner is the way to go, so when I plugged mine and went with it. No problems. Mine had a mechanical tensioner on it when I bought it, and it was broken of course. Because it had the mechanical type, the conversion was easier since t...

I just finished a similar swap and had trouble as well. My troubles were electric FI connections, and once the connections were right the 2.5 LJet worked great on the 3.0. But I picked up a 3.0 AFM and loosened up the flap spring 4 notches. What a difference. I swear my GTV6/3.0 is faster than my Bo...

Having just solved my hard start problems, I will give you some tips. #1, make sure all the plugs are on the right devices, they are color coded. #2 the cold start system is actuated by the starter switch and only runs when the starter is cranking. You can do a continuity test between the starter on...

Thanks for the info. Boy do I feel stupid now. I recently did a 3.0 engine swap. which explains why the plugs were removed. After some continuity testing and wire chasing...it Turns out that Bosch injection may be fool proof but it's not idiot proof. i had the CTS plug connected to the thermo time s...

cold start solenoid
I have been having a hard start problem with my 1986 GTV6 and have discovered that my cold start valve (7th injector) is not squirting gas with a cold motor. I tested it by pulling the injector out of the back of the manifold and cranking the motor. No gas. I have 3 cold start sensors and 2 injector...

Interesting, I of course have a N. am car with tropicaire,..... and my windshield wipers are goofy. And yes water had some how gotten inside the relay. But with the relay totally removed the wipers still work, although they are basically manual. I would think the wipers would not work at all with th...

It is still l-jet, totally stock, AFM and all. I was not suspecting fuel pressure since it idles perfect, even when cold, and when warmed up drives perfect as well. It's just a cold engine hesitation. But no I have not checked the fuel pressure. I initially thought I had an AFM problem, so I stuck a...

3.0 Conversion question
I recently transplanted an '89 Verde 3.0 into my '86 GTV6. I reused everything (FI) from my 2.5 onto the 3.0. but now the car is really hard to start from cold. You absolutely must not touch the gas pedal at cold starup. Once it starts, the driveability is very bad, it hesitates and stumbles until w...
