Re: Radiator & Thermostat out. Anything else I should do no
Lachy, Most problems I've experienced with GTV6's overheating apart from obvious issues are from engines that have not been overhauled for a considerable time. The engine blocks are usually full of all sorts of crap if they have not been looked after properly. That's where the crud in the radiator c...

Re: Alfetta clutch on 75 TS box
Hi Mike, The twin plate and single plate clutches are interchangable on GTV6's, from memory just the slave cylinder push rod may be a different length. A few years ago I had a similar problem with faces for the twin plate clutch. I was told they were available overseas but because they contained ASB...

Re: Hot fuses and wires for radiator fans
Gwaylo, If its #3 fuse that's getting hot I would suspect a wrong relay is installed. Check out this old post as it took me quite a while to fix this problem with both my GTV6's. http://alfagtv6.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1703&p=16050#p16050 Fuses should not get hot at all if the designe...

x-rad, If you are referring to the silver bit with the extra hoses it's the deceleration valve. When decelerating and the throttle closed, it lets air into the engine to supposedly allow the engine to burn any fuel still left in the intake system. These were required on all new Aussie cars in the 80...

Oscar, The oil pump can be changed as you suggest and is not a big job. After removing the distributor and oil pump/distributor drive gear take off the lower oil sump cover and remove the three hex bolts holding the pump in place. The only trick on assembly after the oil pump is reinstalled is to dr...

Kevin, Use the GM IAT sensor it will work fine. If you can get hold of a busted AFM, use the socket to wire in the IAT sensor and any other extra wires you need. With the throttle body you can go down the path you are suggesting or use the original one and use the MAP option. The are various schools...

Marco, I haven't had any problems with leaking detensioners so far. I agree the shaft seal is the weak point provided the piston shaft is not scored or worn. A couple of the rebuild kits I have used previously, had the seal with the small spring but I believe the main problem is the outer seal not s...

Andres,
The following site has transaxle overhaul info for the 75/Milano. Basically the same procedure. A lot of other useful stuff for engine overhaul, etc.
