Re: Mats Strandberg (SWE)

Well Mats it sounds like you still have the spirit despite the tough stuff.I'm a Vag guy- Audis but it's amazing what can be accomplished fooling around in the electronics of these machines.Still doesn't beat an angry Busso @ 7k.

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GT

YES KevinR I get going to the 10W60. You don't have to care about the low end number in your climate and you gain some margin on the hot end. Will probably work out well.

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GT

Yes KevinR beautifull pics. Just to set your mind at ease, I've been running the valvoline VR1 for 5 years, ever since I learned of Castrol's evil plot to destroy camshafts by virtually eliminating ZDDP from my trusty old 20/50.The valvoline has been every bit as good, maybe better, but I'm careful ...

Re: V6 24V camshaft saga

My curiosity got the better of me, both Vic Auto and Centerline "USA" offer new injectors for the GTV6 best check the lbs/hr. to match to your displacement etc.

Re: V6 24V camshaft saga

Yeah I'd want to swap out those injectors they've done a lot of work.I swapped mine out about 10 years ago.Bought mine from Greg Gordon's Performance store (don't know if they're still up ?) It was convenient at the time and they've been great, but if I hadn't had that option I could have tracked do...

4SFED4 Thanks for the info, very helpful. From your photos I'd say it looks like a good upgrade and not too expensive.Think I'll go for it.

Re: Headlight lamps

4SFED4 If ever you get the urge to post a detailed report on how you went about your Led conversion project,I'm sure it would be pretty popular around here.I'm a huge fan of this technology.I have had Audi's since 1997 and I've pretty much forgotten how to change a bulb - almost.

Re: V6 24V camshaft saga

Power, power, power that's all you care about eh Jim.Sick - I love it.Yeah cam timing is a bit of science and a bit of black magic and you're the master.Equally fun and somewhat easier is ignition curve monkeying. You can get some surprising results particularly playing with the big fat torque curve...

Re: Headlight lamps

Arguti Yes you can safely assume that the stock Gtv6 headlights are not great at least in Canada - same as Usa.They're 30 year old sealed beam technology.I've seen much worse but they can be radically improved.I turned to Daniel Stern lighting in the Usa.He sent me Cibie high and low with some vastl...

Darryl
If it was mine I wouldn't go to .20mm, guess that makes me a nervous ninny.I love and protect my cams and going overly tight might be a litte harsh on the lobes.
Why don't you warm her up and record some sound.Post it here and we'll all pontificate.

Re: valve adjustment

Yeah darryl if you tighten up to around 0,22 on the exhaust you should be alright. I'd also advise you to do a little research on the topic of ZDDP and flat tappet engines. For years I ran Castrol 20/50 and fortunately I found out that they'd dramatically reduced this component (ZDDP) which acts as ...

Re: Engine Won't Crank, But Fuel Pump Buzzes.

Enrique
First place I'd look is the ignition switch.I've replaced a few due to similar failures.First step is to manualy override it by taking 12V to the starter solenoid and see if this engages the starter and spins the motor.
