Re: Twin Spark Engines

As squishy as possible with the TS head.

They were out of Grazie scales.....

Re: Twin Spark Engines

Seems it's finally time for me to move from the old Nord time to modern TS era. New 85.2 mm pistons and liners just arrived. Call me a sucker for shiny things but the pistons are pure p*rn. Design criteria destroyed my plans to go short stroke. So, instead we'll see what's the max hp we can achieve....

Re: Mats Strandberg (SWE)

I really managed to fuck up the timing this time. I was here the week before the guys and the week after. Didn't follow gtv6 site in a while since my alfa activity has been sadly low. When I returned I remembered Maurizio should be here and sent him a mail before going mountain biking. On the way I ...

Re: JK's v6 book

Remember 60 is only the value for hot viscosity. Doesn't say anything more or anything less.

Personally I never used that thick oil on the street or racing.

As for oil recommendations I find as many as people asked. Can't help there.

Re: JK's v6 book

However, the first concern with an unknown profile is the max velocity value, which occurs somewhere very near the edge of the follower. For 35mm Alfa tappets the max is ~0.012"/* and for 22mm followers its down to just ~0.007"/* !! Very interesting how this limits profile choice! Exceed ...

Re: JK's v6 book

The exhaust lobes were too aggressive/big to fit on the followers.
So it chewed the exhaust followers in a couple of hours.

Re: JK's v6 book

Richard Jameson (from the other forum) got good results using standard, but I imagined modified 12v manifolds; limitations due to class of competition he was competing in?
I'd be really careful about his stuff. His cams killed a friends engine.

Re: Alfetta wheel offset

What does it matter anyway?

I wouldn't use stock ET whatever. The wheel thread has tons of info. Anything from ET0 to 50 might be OK for you.

Re: Alfetta wheel offset

Slight OT but I gave some wheels to a friend as I knew they fit his 75.
He got them on allright but getting them off was a hell of a job. Seems they were 156 or 147 with the smaller center hole.

Re: Alfetta wheel offset

In Europe the stock ET was 45 as well.

My aftermarket wheels were ET28 and they come way more out than the stock steel ones.

Re: Axle Tramp

I have off the shelf yellow konis.
Whatever Mats says they are not useless.
It might of course be faster with other shocks but the suspension works well. Together with 520 LBS springs I have no problems at all.
My new shocks are another brand and then I'll see what the gain is if any.

Re: xrad's gtv6

Speaking about the steering shocks I heard that the 164 with big engines benefit from it. Else it tries to pull the arms off. Didn't try my self. We removed it from my fathers 164 TS and it's at least not worse than before.

Re: The Orange Cab -MD's New Racer

Bending withour some heat can be tricky. We didn't even try. My uprights are welded anyway.

The arms become shorter indeed. That's an extra bonus. Not enough though and the steering is still too slow. I use 225 tires as well. No PS of course.

Re: The Orange Cab -MD's New Racer

Looks horrible.

What I did in my case being almost identical to yours is bend the steering arms.
