Re: grease - from Lithuania

And I thought the transaxle was weak...

Maybe it needs a gearbox cooler?

I saw a video of the GTA in the Dutch series, he was racing a 75 3.2 and then the gearbox broke. I think he was engine braking because it broke approaching into a sharp turn.

Great car btw!

This is Han's car? I like to see the video of this SC car going against Niclas Rosengren's super modified 3.0 12V (232 whp). Super awesome!

Re: swapping flywheel and pully between 2.5l 12v engines

It should be ok. But it's not the right thing to do. Balancing the whole assembly is the best. Copying the imbalance may be the next best thing. But think about it, if your GTV6 was new and it broke a flywheel will the dealer take out everything and balance the whole assembly. No way. They will simp...

Re: Power steering on 24v, rwd

you mean in Athens you have shop with mandrel benders? There's no such thing here. All bends are crush bends, distorted. They just want to "Git'r done" and tell you to "let 'er rip" after that.....if you know what I mean.

If you can do engine work, exhaust work is nothing. Except that you have to lie on your back a lot. Oh and you have to have a nice welder :)

Re: Watts linkage. What sort of forces involved?

Is the goal to make sure the pivot piece is 90 degrees to the dedion? Right now since the car is lowered, the pivot piece is not perpendicular anymore. What if I cut the watts linkage rod and weld it? Keeping in mind the weld has to be strong of course.

Re: 75 or 164 Motronic crank pulley?

My brother fitted an SZ pulley on his 164 engined 75. 13 years later no problems. Ideally you would want everything balanced. But is it practical for such a small part? I put forged pistons in my car about 7-8 years ago, no problems. Now in this case, I would NEVER do this again. Since the pistons a...

Amazing thievery. The fat cats get people into trouble and the people bail them out. The problem is these sort of problems interfere with the people's lives, livelihood and most importantly hobbies like ours :)

Re: XRAD'S ALFETTA

I think JK said in his book, he shaved his V6 heads, with S-pistons and run on 89 and 91 (USA rating). With your programmable, why not, you can adjust everything. And with big cams, no reason to run low compression setup. Only way to make power is with compression. Shave the head :) . I remember whe...

Re: JK's v6 book

Jim, Can you elaborate on the ramp? From what I know, it's not the peak lift and total duration that kills the lifter/lobe. It's the lobe acceleration which kills. The trick is to accelerate the lobe as fast as possible without wrecking the lifters and the lobes. This is the mystery. What is the pea...

I have his cams. How did the cams kill the engine? Was it the aggressive ramp? Broke some springs?
