Re: 166 24v into 116 GTV
But on the Mercedes, bmw and corvette they're perfect in line and don't twist... The alfa v6 lies crooked in the car. It's off centre by something like 10 degrees or so. So every turn of the propshaft twists the front guibo. Putting the engine in straight will require new enginemounts and a new rear...

Re: 166 24v into 116 GTV
Did the owner perhaps not notice the odd vibration in the driveshaft from a failed donut and kept on driving?
I've had a completely destroyed donut once on a 75 TS that you didn't really notice. No vibration while driving steady.

Re: 166 24v into 116 GTV
My bet goes to the flexing in the guibo due to the engine pulling straight when torque is applied. Only the front guibo endures this much movement, the other ones take much less stress.

Loosing this site would be horrible and a waste of knowledge.
I would be happy to donate some money for keeping it online.

Re: 75 3.7 vs 996 GT3 Cup
His 75 is an original autodelta group a or something, so already worth a hole lot of money...
He builds most of his owns parts. I think he has a 103 mm bore to get to 3.9l.
This car weighs less then 1000kg, the porsche will be a bit heavier i think.

Oktech, Oliver Koertgen.
3.7 24v 436hp at that time.
It's current engine is 3.9 24v and hé is shooting for 500hp. Didn't make it just yet so is changing a few things.

Are you only going to circulate the oil to cool it or will you spray it onto a certain location?

Re: Braking Problem
If you have old brakefluid and heat it up it gets thin. A mastercilinder with some wear might get some internal lekkage then.
Had this in my 156. Clutch gave some problem, brakepedal went to the floor after a long drive with hot weather. Changing the fluid cured the problems.

Re: ICV / Idle Valve / Idle Actuator
For some functions motronic uses ground signals to activate stuff. Things like injectors get a permanent 12v feed when the ignition is turned on. Opening of the injectors is regulated by ground signals.

Re: v6 3.0 12v rebulid and mild tuning
You're not coming to the alfa spettacolo in the Netherlands next weekend by any chance? I would be happy to donate you a 75 inlet and runners then. The 164 12v stuff can be used as well. Just needs the throttlebody repositioned so it clears the bulkhead. The curve from an alfa 75 TS intake works qui...
