Re: Clutch spline count and shaft Dia?

I wasn't aware the clown parade was on, but you two weasels posting together gave it away! Sticks and stones.... For the record -you upside down loafer- my own little 1.8T had 293ftlbs at 4380rpm with the old GT2871. And what's more, I got all my own teeth! Eat your heart out, HAHAHAHAHAH!...

Re: Which would you choose and why?

Bull! This is slander! I like the V6 (24v) but I'd like it a lot more if it had, say, longer stroke, a bit bigger valves and double Vanos.... 8) Any objections? 8)

Re: Which would you choose and why?

'How do Greeks do it?' Haha, I like this one! Well, just like everyone else but not often enough, that's why population is declining! Now on cars, I will agree with MD -as much as I hate to. First you gotta know what the hell you're going to use the piece of junk for. A 747 can't be a fighter and v...

Re: Which would you choose and why?

I'm saying we should keep things into perspective. I do admit my cars are faster than I am, so I'm not really looking for more power. This is why I usually say ' I modify an engine for the power level I want, not what I can' . For example, I believe a 75 1.8T with ~300hp and ~320ftlbs (440Nm) is a m...

Re: Which would you choose and why?

Your next poll question should be: and, do you think you're really capable of competitively handling 350-450hp in the track? Come on guys, time to apply for a test drive with an F1 team -the hell with F3 ...toys! :wall:

Re: Clutch spline count and shaft Dia?

We do it here all the time and we have no problems. There are a few specialty shops for these jobs. Consider we have transaxle discs and pressure plates rebuilt mostly for Alfa 75 1.8Turbo cars, many of which have considerably more than 260-280ftlbs torque.

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)

Write to these guys here and ask them to make you the gaskets with separate O-rings at your desired thickness. They DO make special orders and they have done them for us for the 2liter V6. I have the std 3liter set from them but you need the O-ring special, which they make for several Alfa engines. ...

Re: 16" Compomotive MO wheels wanted

30-35 offset is fine and if not 5x98 pcd, 5x100 will do, which is much more popular as its for Subaru and others. No other pcd is practical as I have 2 more Alfa pcd sets at home -trying to cover my two 75's with road+trackday wheel/tire sets. I've contacted Compomotive, but they won't be making the...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

Ok, back here again regarding the 6 carbs. I am currently rebuilding them and the new needle valves are 1.2mm but no rubber tips, just classic brass needles. Fortunately the carbs are in almost new condition and work is straightforward. :)

16" Compomotive MO wheels wanted

I'm looking for a set of 16" Compomotive MO wheels, preferably 7.5x16", pcd 5x98 or 5x100, any color, in excellent condition. These are what I'm looking for: Image

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

Just saw the needle valve post Kevin. I wouldn't bother drilling anything, given the risks involved. If even one of them things flood during use, its not a walk in the park. Spend the money (£90-100) and buy new larger ones. I got one of these things on a 50cc ancient Garelli moped and the Viton con...

Re: Oil level

Sure enough, it took me several days to get it to fit perfectly, a lot of filing and cutting the Teflon with Exact-O-knife, but in the end even I was happy with the rotating parts barely 'licking' the Teflon strip. And no oil leaks anywhere for more than a year now. :D

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

Several points here... --Haven't checked the number (6 or 4) but I have found that with a harder suspension set, Yellow Bilsteins are the best I have tried and still have them on the 1.8T. Konis (yellow) are no good in my opinion and for my liking. In the soft setting they allow too much movement an...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

Things are simple: All Bosch inductive distributors have the green wire+yellow 2-pin connector, starting from Alfasud, Alfetta, Giulietta, carb Alfa75, early gtv6and many Alfa33 cars. On the other hand, all Hall-effect distributors have the upright 3-pin connector (late gtv6, all Jetronic Milanos, A...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

Hi Kevin,
Does the green wire come with the little yellow distributor plug? If yes, please share the Porsche part number as I need a couple of those! :)
Thanks,
