Re: My engine 3.0 V6 24V
My AHM regrind are grinded at base circle, max lift is now 10,1mm. After 5000kms no wear is showing on lobes or hydraulic lifters. i can only recommend AHM! Duration should be around 290° and i have them set so that max lift is at 107° Argrhhhh the problems with balancing, in my country noone is abl...

Liners in factory tolerances, almost no ovality (still i'm gonna align the widest part with crank) http://shrani.si/f/T/XC/3Eh2Q3cy/linerjizmerjeni.jpg Bobweights done all insde 0,2g! Haha i know and it's written in the book too. i just forogot lol. Well i grind the pins on others and it's allreally nice now. you can see the numbers it's all in 0.1g! http://shrani.si/f/2c/eb/3xU6dK26/pinteze.jpg I washed all pistons and pins in soapy water http://shrani.si/f/3l/B/4MFZwyX0/batiopr...

Re: My engine 3.0 V6 24V
Thanks for that. Well about piston grinding, i saw it on some videos that they grind away at that place... I didnt grind much and i found out that the lightest pistons are a little thinner right in that area (from my second engine). I'm still learning things... About rod weighting, i changed the met...

Re: My engine 3.0 V6 24V
Finnaly weighted all pieces and calculated bob weights... Jim i assume you weighted big ends and then calculated small end weight? Because i get same numbers that way (within 1-2 grams) but if i weight small end it's around 179-180g and not 184g like if calculated... I guess that is up to some frict...

Re: My engine 3.0 V6 24V
I'll go for goetze rings, no real advantage in total seal as i read on few forums... Re: My engine 3.0 V6 24V
I know that 33 16V has the same lifters, but not sure about 2.0 engines.
I read a little about total seal rings, should i try them? All of you that use them, did you change all three or just top?
Maybe any specs for the top one on 24V, which one is the most apropriate?
Thanks.

Re: My engine 3.0 V6 24V
well if I had to buy new pistons and liners i'd definetely go 3.7 and make use of those ports with displacement and good cams.. I want to keep the displacement at 3.0. 100hp/l is possible and that's the goal. I have a spare engine at home but last year i sold a liner and 3 pistons... Waiting for re...

Re: My engine 3.0 V6 24V
Yep i already decided to use new liners and pistons (well used from my good spare engine)
About manegement i think i'll have to go standalone route as there is not much knowledge about stock ecu in my country. I think DTA or something similar...

Re: My engine 3.0 V6 24V
What do you think.... I think it's quite bad and will go for another set of liners and pistons. This is probably because my car was running on check engine after all the mods, overfueling on low revs and underfueling at the top. http://shrani.si/f/3W/cv/2Q1wN7GH/bati.jpg Liners are bad too, this one...

Re: My engine 3.0 V6 24V
We are getting somewhere... Opened the engine to start the balancing process. I have some piston skirt wear i dont like... How does that dow corning 321 MoS spray do in longtherm? Liners have some wear too, but i have a spare few... I think maybe honing the liners and use my pistons + new rings? Mus...

Re: 24v headwork - power gains
With the short ratio of 2.5 v6 there will be no problem in low rpm driveability. I didnt notice much negative effects on a fwd gtv with much longer ratio and AHM cams. @ Tim will you raise the compression? @ Jim I didnt forget about the 2.5 heads, the whole engine is gone thats' why i didnt send the...

Re: Hello from Slovenia (my V6 project) 2012 new car!
I will use this gearbox because of the shorter ratios, and i dont have any other as the one from gtv is no good.
I think custom headers were made in Italy and cost a fortune! I think that stock catless headers are good enough for 90+hp per litre.
