Tyres

Agree with Greg re tyre size. Based on your rim width, you should stick with the 205x55x15. The larger tyre is too big for the rim width.

doozie From my best understanding of what you are saying about the problem, I think this is one that needs a mechanic to test drive the vehicle and observe and try to replicate the symptoms. From that some diagnosis can be made. Otherwise it could be any number of things. As for not being imported l...

Differential

Cooking with gas Jim. Great info. I suppose I have two choices. Try and source these diff ratio sets as new (if they are still available) or source them from old cars that had them fitted. So the sticky end is and so I can begin my search, can you give me a clue as to which models used these diff ra...

Airconditioning

Hi Murray In short, I don't believe the tropic air mods were ever imported to Oz. Could be wrong but never seen one. If you are looking for a change over evap unit try Formula King rated at 18,000 BTu's. I recommend a parallel flow condensor as big as you can fit behind the grill. Seal the space bet...

Call that a beach ? Mate, our beach is long enough to wrap Europe twice around and up your fooshoo for a stopper! Now that's beach ! But I agree with you. What we need is to go commercial and set up an Alfa Ice Cream Kiosk on the beach and you know, check out the customers, er, I mean spread the Alf...

Suggested Racing Chapter Premise

I know that it seems like a crazy conflict. Have a competitive race car but tell everyone how it's made up and instantly loose your competitive edge ! I fully appreciate that that this type of information is not possible to obtain. The similarity lies in JimK's dilemma about trying to help all of us...

Dear Mr Guest, wellcome... How weird is that Jim? While I got your attention, got a question for you Mr Guest. Judging by what the pit crew are telling me which is that there are no shorter diffs for a transaxle than 43:10, and this ratio didn't have an LSD, is it possible to graft an LSD into a 43:...

Differentials

Thanks Jose, I thought that I was somewhere close. Do you have any contacts where one could buy one of these guys? On reflection there is still something not quite right. Surely the 1.6 would not have had an LSD ? I have a friend who has a 4.56 with a close ratio gearset and LSD. The gears he instal...

Sway Bars I have seen lots of postings about the use of different sized sway bars and some of the European configurations use some big numbers like 33mm diameter. I do know that these would be hollow bars. What I don't know is the correlation between the solid bars and hollow bars and the wall thick...

Gearbox & Differential

Down to business...

Does anyone know the complete range of short differential ratios available for the transaxle from the 4.1 up?

Who can supply them?

I have been told that the 75 1.8 litre turbo had a short diff around 4.5 ? Is that correct ? Where could I get one from?

Thanks

I guess this Chapter will naturally evolve if there is a genuine calling not just from myself and a few others but the wider fraternity. Otherwise it will just die in the bum from a lack of support. So I suppose time will tell what the real needs are. Matts to keep to things simple, I don't think th...

Yep agree Matts.

When I said I was looking for specs/ingredients call them what you will, this is what I meant.
