Re: Adjusting L-Jet mixture with the Black Box

Thanks, The price is now down to $125 because it's much easier for us to put together. The old version took us 4 hours to make, the new takes much much less. It's really pretty simple but most of the cost is still from the labor side. It interrupts the coolant temp sensor's signal, so there is only ...

Re: Adjusting L-Jet mixture with the Black Box

Yes, and Yes. It's exactly the same as the black box I have been selling for years. It's just like the one I used to modify L-Jet for supercharging, although it's now refined a little more with in cabin adjust-ability.

Re: Adjusting L-Jet mixture with the Black Box

Hi Richard, With the black box you can expect to be able to adjust the air fuel ratios down to the ideal 12.5:1. A mild 3.0 will tend to run around 14.0-1 with L-Jet and the mods you described. How much more power will that add? Probably about 5 horsepower, but more importantly it will reduce the te...

BTW, will this work on a motronic M1.7?
I don't know for sure. I think it will work on 1.7 but haven't tried it. It has worked on Motronic basic (1.0), 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3. It's also been used on most versions of L-Jet including the Japanese and British build licensed versions.

Adjusting L-Jet mixture with the Black Box

I know not too many of us are tuning with L-Jet anymore. Still, I felt the need to update my black box. It works extremely well. It's essentially just like the black box I have made for years, but now it's infinitely variable and the setting can be adjusted from inside the cabin. Here is a video of ...

Re: Rebuilt V6 engine oil priming.

I have a much easier way, and I did it yesterday. I used an electric drill with a piece of silicone hose on a drill bit (8mm id). The hose fits over the oil pump drive and is rigid enough to spin the pump when I turn on the drill. I kept spinning until oil was coming out of the turbo drains. Greg, h...

Re: Strange variation in clutch housing

MD, I like your idea, but my goal is to build a max power car with as few mods as possible. I am using stock pistons, rods, and just about everything else. I plan to blow a lot of boost into the motor through a Sprintex blower. The plan here is to have a parts combo that's easy for others to emulate...

Re: Strange variation in clutch housing

Yup, I am looking at enlarging the coupling end. That's a lot easier, and I just got that transaxle in there, I don't want to pull it out again.

Re: Strange variation in clutch housing

I also think that centering bushing is pretty important. I had to drill it out in order to get the car back on the ground. I didn't have time to do anything else and I didn't want to leave the driveshaft just hanging there. The car won't be running for a while anyway. I don't think it will be tough ...

Re: Strange variation in clutch housing

The smaller shafts seem to be from GTV6s which had twin clutches, at least in the US. The part I can't figure out is why one is larger than all the others. So large that the available rear giubos wont fit. It's close, like .5mm, but that's enough to prevent something from fitting when dealing with s...

Re: Strange variation in clutch housing

I think you might be right. It's just strange that this one assembly has the larger flange. There must have been different donuts in production at one time. The current catalogs I have looked through only have one part number for the rear donuts on Milanos and GTV6s. For example IAP's part number is...

Re: New 500 Abarth Intake

OK, the picture is back. Please let me know what you guys think. The level of knowledge is a lot higher here than on other forums so the opinions here really matter to me. Fun Fact, we measured a 1/4 psi of ram air pressure rise at 80mph with this intake. I know that's not a big deal, but it makes i...

Strange variation in clutch housing

This past weekend I put my rebuilt transaxle (original to my 1985 GTV6) with a clutch hosing from a Verde. When I went to put on the rear Guibo it wouldn't fit over the front shaft nipple. I then looked through my collection of parts and found that there are at least three different sizes. The one o...
