Re: Reverse Bleeding Clutch Slave
Hi Z , as I have funny gearbox upfront in my GTV ( bmw box ) I also reverse bled it but I connected a pipe to brake caliper nipple and just topped up the brakes . The clutch slave nipple is also not on top just like the 2.0 Gtv set up . I have now bought a pump as I run different fluids in clutch an...

Re: Project 2 : front mount SA GTV 3.0 - Sei diff
Been a while from last update but it's definitly "Alfa season" at the moment with quite a few events to use the car and display the car . One of note was AutoItalia had an invitational event at Chobham test facility where they hired out this old WW2 and current McLaren test facility . It's...

Re: Jim K. 3.2 engine
Jim , I don't think you have to worry about the sensor . Bewteen my dad and I we have probably covered 1 mil Kms with the 164s and 156 etc and the only sensors that packed in were the ones which rubbed against the auxiliary belt as the plastic clip that holds cable was not put in after its service ....

Re: Jim K. 3.2 engine
Thanks Jim for reply , I'm glad you were thinking the 250 mark . Just looking at piston suppliers to go with . Probably Wossner at this stage . You must have been going nuts searching for that gremlin . On the Powermods ECU I use i can switch between the Bmw sensor and Alfa 164 sennsor with no issue...

Re: Jim K. 3.2 engine
Hi Jim , What's news on your motor ? Here's a question for you while on subject of 3.2 's What would you expect in hp from a 3.0 12v fitted with a 3.2 crank , custom Pistons with about 10.5 compression , c&b fast road cams , ported runners , and let's say equal length manifolds . My mate in SA h...

Thanks mate . It's sure one crazy car to drive . It's smooth but leaves no time to take a breather as you're constantly shifting gears due to short ratios and loads of snappy power . But then again I keep forgetting its a trackday car best suited for racing short circuits and hill climbs .

Re: Hello
Hi . Very very Important you have correct pump for these carbs because if you have a high pressure pump from an injection model and you now put the fuel pressure regulator in the correct position on the return line YOU will be rebuilding a new engine again - due to hydraulic lock ( floats can't clos...

Re: Hello
Hi . I can't see clearly but your fuel pressure regulator should be on return line which is bottom row of carbs . This stops you from running out of fuel but you must set pressure correctly otherwise you will overflow float chambers and get hydraulic lock and conrod out side of block . More than lik...

Next time I take sump off on spare motor I will measure but you would want it to be high enough above the sludge that collects ( probably not in your case ) and also clear any moisture that settles below the oil if car is standing for long time ( but probably not in your climate either ) . I might h...

Hi Jules This is a really rough sketch . I have taken some pics as well to highlight the line of the bulge is not dead straight but curves slighly .( this line is shown in pic with tape measure running alongside it ie from windscreen to nose) Also the height of the bulge relative to the sides of the...

Re: Project 2 : front mount SA GTV 3.0 - Sei diff
Hi Jules , I measured up the Gtv 3.0 bonnet which I will post on other thread . Took the car out today for a few test laps in rural country today - what fun . Got my wet weather rainsports 3 on for road and wet weather . Back to your question , Do you have a standard Gear linkage on your Gtv or the ...

Just modify the original sump on the 3.2 to fit in 116 . Much easier and no leaks around front of pulley . Your only 18mm closer to Tarmac than standard sump in 12v .

Re: Project 2 : front mount SA GTV 3.0 - Sei diff
Cheers thanks , gotta make a plan . Got it all bolted together about half hour ago before it started to drizzle which is forecast for entire weekend . Clutch works beautifully and much more user friendly ( obviously) than the tiny race Ap unit . Pretty happy about that . Will have to do some videos ...
