Re: 2.5 future mods - engine direction?
It is a shit to get the liners out without cracking the block. The corrosion risk where the liners seat mean even when you get them out, you may have to find another block and start again. My engine builder did not want any repeat business on this job. However, FWIW I fully support the NA choice and...

Re: 2.5 future mods - engine direction?
Increasing the displacement is a expensive way to go (custom rods/pistons and lots of machining with a high risk of stuffing up the block). Can understand not wanting to do it for a 2.8 litre (doubt that I'd proceed down that path either given availability of 3+ litre engines now). Given the rego/po...

Re: Alex Jupe's short shift mechanism
MD totally re-engineered the shift in his gtv6. As this involved close scrutiny of both types of alfa shift mechanisms, I'd say he is well qualified to comment on alternative modifications. The 'move the ball up' comment is to change the ratio on the lever to give more movement at the box for a give...

Re: Alex Jupe's short shift mechanism
I recommend corresponding with MD on shifting mods - he wrote the book on it! I personally wouldn't advocate a shorter shift - I think it could make timing the shifts more difficult. More accurate shifting certainly, reocation of the shift position (closer) absolutely, but I don't think the actual d...

rear brake adjusters
Anybody know of where to get a tool to loosen the locknut on the outer adjuster while allowing allen key access to the adjuster? Am thining of cutting a 17mm socket in half and welding on an arm, but thought there might be an easier option out there somewhere?
thanks in advance
