Re: 3.2 V6 - removing the oil filter heat exchanger

After you do that you can put on the 164 'S' heat exchanger it fits with the mount. I have one when I put the 'S' in my 75 I think they are a must. as they heat up the oil. and I think cold oil does more damage then too hot oil ever did. And with the large amount of oil that Alfa have it needs some ...

Re: Alfa romeo v8 engine

it might be a bit strange but if you keep the 2 cranks and tied them together with a big chain or gear with one running backwards. you would still need to rework one head. or have strange plumbing. but this way you have more or less 2 motors side by side. you can slant them any way you want. but use...

Re: Motec on GTV6

if you look at my VEMS install it address most of this http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/engine-management/26315-vems-install-my-verde.html I use VW COPS as they are super cheap. and I have a 'S' block so the oil pump spins faster so a oil pump dizzy can not be used any ways. I think the crank trigger...

Re: Balancing factor of the 3.0 12v?

I used my 3L pulley, crank, flywheel out of the old block. as I could not get any good info ether. when I put in a 'S' motor. but if you can have the old matched to the 164 parts I would think it would be fine. use the 164 pulley, zero it or of-set weight it to zero. then mount the 2.5 part and grin...

Re: New V6 3liter 12v pistons.

Greg the supercharger. has had them done in the block and says they are better then stock liners. Also I was told you could have a motorbike shop do it that is used to thin liners. I looked on line how the motorbike guys do it with a lath. It had a jig that clamped it. "We then bolted the cylin...

Re: New V6 3liter 12v pistons.

I thinking I might want the older type. As I push it a little too hard some times before it is as warm as it should. And a flopping piston just seem like it would be extra bad in that case. That is if I can get any one to sell them to me.... If I bore a old liner I think the cost will not be too muc...

Re: 75 3.0v6 boosted.Preparing transaxle for extra load.

Well the 3L USA box has a bigger pinion and smaller ring do the the change in final drive as far as I know. how else could you change the final ratio. So a tall box might be stronger but then have bad gearing. also the diff is a 4 way. The old boxes it was a 2 way don't renumber when they switched. ...

Re: 75 3.0v6 boosted.Preparing transaxle for extra load.

hmm as that box has straight gears. It should not of had the box spreading apart problem. but I guess the pinion its self is still be trying to move in or out as it is not straight cut. and if it moved much at all ether in or out I could see it bust apart. I still think a vett box is the answer with...

heh if the pitch is right I guess you could. but I think it was done for cooling and to save a bit of weight. not for accessorys the only work while moving.

Re: Drive Shaft CV's keep breaking

look at the off road buggy guys. They use the same 930 CV's or is that 940? as a rule they only have a problem if not broken in . or the angle it too great. but they have good tips on how to smooth the inside so they work better. a new one kinda is notchy until broken in. So they smooth the inside w...
