Re: GTV race car.

thanks kimmo
this is definately not cast. im not sure what grade of steel was used but ill find out.
i have had very light flywheels made in the past, all from steel, and have never had any issues.

Re: GTV race car.

Zamani wheels are 5x114, had some hub adapters made to convert pcd from 5x98. makes wheel options much easier. they are also handy for widening the track. jes, flywheel has been made out of billet, and was stress relieved once it was completed. it was made by a guy locally. i have seen a number a fl...

can anyone out there tell me the best place to buy new crank plugs for a V6 crank?

Re: Racing Clutches (lightweight)

Kevin, the clutch housing is actually from a 75 ts. the only difference i found was the method of retaining the flywheel bearing. gtv6 uses a locknut and other cars seem to all use a circlip. went with a twin plate as i have had great success with them in the past. plus it was cheap off ebay . i had...

Re: gearbox rebuild question

thanks Mats.
they all have close to 1mm free play.
is this too excessive?
have you had forks built up before?
does it make much difference to the shift?
it is for a race car so want it to be good.

cheers

gearbox rebuild question

Hi, i have started rebuilding a gearbox for my gtv. looking at both of my manuals there are two different clearances specified for the distance between the selector fork and selector hub. one says 0.2mm-0.5mm the other says 0.7mm-0.9mm. does anyone out there have any idea why they may be different. ...

Re: GTV6 wont start- no injector pulse

Hi Scott, thanks for the suggestion. i have also been caught out by the firing order, although not this time. in desperation i hooked up the standard ignition and it started and ran perfectly. it seems that somehow the msd was out, and even though everything seemed to check ok- it wasn't. although i...

Re: GTV6 wont start- no injector pulse

GTV6 wont start- no injector pulse

i have built a gtv6 race car and for the meantime, ill be running the stock ecu and loom. i did however take out most of the excess wiring from the rest of the car. and changed the fuse box to a much smaller item. i now have a problem where the car wont start. i left the ecu loom untouched. i have a...

tubular front sway bars

i have a tubular bar almost set up.

i ordered some splined arms to fit my 1 1/4" bar from speedway engineering. all i have to do now is cut the arms down as they are very long and drill some holes for the drop links.

ill take some pics of what i have and post them.
