Tensioners- hydraulic vs plugged hydraulic??
thanks Barry, i have read every post on this site regarding tensioners! although my feeling was that it mostly covered the mechanical type which sounds like more trouble than its worth! i didn't find much comparing the plugged, grese filled option, or the standard hydraulic option! ill give the rebu...

HELP!! Tensioners- hydraulic vs plugged hydraulic??
i have been doing a lot of research about tensioners over the last week or so for my upcoming timing belt change. from what iv read, im advised to steer clear of the mechanical tensioners. the question is, should i plug my hydraulic tensioner or use a rebuilt standard tensioner? what is the best. is...

forged pistons
iv always had good experiences with paul spruell.
i ordered some pistons off him a few years back and all communication was quick etc. would definately deal again.
drop him another email!
i know a lot of people using the 4 cylinder pistons and all are very happy with the results.

pistons and liners
hi murray,
have a look at
www.paulspruell.com
he has a whole range of JE pistons for alfas.
not so sure on the liners though.
try www.arricambi.com
i think they have liners for sale seperately.
good luck with the engine rebuild.

liners
from what iv heard, you can get better quality liners for more performance engines.
i know of someone who bought some from paul spruell in the US. they were 85mm and are apparently better quality than standard
try www.paulspruell.com
hope this helps
