Greg, Just for fun... have you calculated what the effective octane level would have to be to support 2 bar and a CR of 12:1? As a side note... I read an article about F1 fuels. An F1 car must be able to, according to the rules, run on pump gas. And they do without any modifications at all... the ca...

John, May all of your deepest desires be satisfied! :) Andrew, A dear friend of mine and one of your compatriots, introduced me to a little English culture and a lot of wisdom, plus he was the best drinking friend I ever had! A dirty bastard and quite smooth with the ladies... what a spell his Britt...

For starters... throw away the 1.8 and get a 2.0!

If that is not an option... run a big I/C, modest compression and LOTS of boost. Do all you can to keep charge temperatures down.

I see your point Andrew, won't that will just attract the "I gotta race car on the street crowd" even more? Education... a big fat sticky that lets people know a race car is a race car and a street car is a street car period. Don't care how "hot" your street car is... it aint a r...

For what it is worth Peter... the 156 has it's flaws too. Squeeky dash and ill-fitting boot latch just to name two; perhaps FIAT/Alfa have kept some of the... refinements? lol I choose to look on the bright side... look who is the chairman at FIAT now... at least this guy knows a thing or two about ...

Peter, Oh... you mean ALFA era like in the twenties right? (grin) -or- Just when did they STOP being Alfas...? I seem to recall the same comments from 105/115 owners about those 116 cars. Come on man... at least drive one before writting them off! I would put an Autodelta 156 3.7 GTA in my garage an...

Barry, I respect your decision whatever it is. Please know you are a valuable part of the board. We all have the right to make an ass out of ourselves... so why worry if others continually choose so to do? I will leave you with my favorite quote of the day, it is anonymous. "The monkey is off m...

Mats,

12 months ago they quoted me US$4500 for their syncro'd box (they have a dog-ring option) with whatever ratios I wanted. I just had to send them my box and wait 6 months...

THEY are still waiting! lol

Have you priced the machine work alone jj? Overall that is a very good price considering what ALL is included with the transaxle... Mike Cudahy picked up the race version with a clutch and calipers for a little over US$2k and that is too rich? Hmmm...
