Re: Alfetta wheel offset

I think the actual offset is 40 Again, that is the case with GTV6s. The Alfettas are in the mid 20s. The more the offset, the more the wheel sits in, so 35mm would not stick out too far, but would sit in too much. I'd put 5-8mm spacers on those wheels. I have those wheels on a GTV with 30mm offset ...

Re: Clutch spline count and shaft Dia?

I'm researching this too because I'm looking at the websites of the suppliers of various lightweight clutches. I have a stock clutch in hand and it is 19 spline but the diameter is more like 22mm as I measure the outside diameter. I find reference to Alfa 75 with 19 splines and 7/8" hole which ...

Re: Alfetta wheel offset

The Alfetta offset is more like mid twenties. My stock 6" rims came with 22mm offset. The GTV6 folks speak of stock for their cars as high 30s or low 40s. I think there must be a difference in the width of the car (wheel mounting points) of a cm or so between the Alfetta and the GTV6, because I...

Selector Rod Centering Spring Broken

During the rebuild of my 79 Alfetta gearbox it was determined that my selector rod centering spring is broken. I know the rod is different from different models, so my best bet is to find an Alfetta selector rod with a good spring. Does anyone have one? Anyone with a stuffed transmission they are sa...

Re: New CV's please

Thanks for clearing that up, Mats. I'm also interested to learn how everything turned out with Vittorio's installation. Are you still lurking around somewhere Vittorio? Stephen had also ordered some. How did it all go you two? I know it's been a while so it's probably not fresh on your minds, but ho...

Re: New CV's please

OK, I got the name wrong. Where are they available? There is a link or two on Page 1 that is dead. I can't find a reference to where they come from.

Thanks,

Re: New CV's please

Just reading this post as I'll be dropping the rear out of my Alfetta for transmisson work. It seems the 930 CV joints worked out. Did the 911 CV joints ever arrive and how did they work out? Also, which boots were finally used? The J-flange pictured by Mats doesn't have any reference on Page 1 anym...

rear flywheel

I was talking to Dan Marvin of Norman Racing a few years ago about lightening my rear Alfetta flywheel. He said that he's seen premature donut failure when the rear flywheel is lightened without lightening the front. I don't know if the reverse is true. So even though everything is balanced, there s...

I just did this to my US Spec. 116 Alfetta GT. It had Spica fuel injection, so the return fuel line was already there. Mechanically everything fits. Engine mounts, exhaust, flywheel, etc. Harness went through the firewall (bulkhead) where the airconditioning used to go. This was a 1979 model, so the...

Can someone post a link to EWP suppliers? This thread is very interesting, but I don't know where the pumps come from. Thanks.

I believe lengthening the runners moves torque to a lower rpm for better pickup. Widening them increases the air to the engine, so you can get more power if you get the fuel right after that. But it may not be much if you don't get bigger valves. Whether Alfa has the optimal length already, I don't ...

Twin spark flywheel in Alfetta

Can the twin spark be dropped into the Alfetta with its own flywheel? In other words, are there any differences between the flywheel/driveshaft interface of an Alfetta (of late 70s era) and the twin spark? There was a sugestion to pull the flywheel off of the Alfetta and put it on the twinspark beca...

Wanted 75 TS exhaust manifolds

I've got a 75TS engine going into my Alfetta and the manifolds came pretty damaged. I can't use them. Is anyone doing the conversion into a GTV or Spider and in need of disposing of the old manifolds? I'd be willing to pay $25 a set and I ultimately need two sets. San Francisco Bay Area preferred, a...
