Is it due to the porosity of the cast iron?

The centrifugal force just pulls it apart?

Why not just skim the outside a little and take off maybe 20% of the weight?

Actually I wonder, if the car makes boost, and you feed the boost into the dissy's vacuum port, won't that make it a boost retard port instead of a vacuum advance port?

Glenn,

The 17" are only for looks :)

Jarle,

Yeah I have SMC 1.91 with Autotune. My ignition timing peaks at 25 degrees BTDC at around 3500 rpm. Haven't dyno tune it yet. I have the Autronic lambda meter as well.

What's the spec of your new engine?

Hi, Is your engine using the fuel injection from the Milano (Jetronic) or 164 (Motronic) ? If Motronic, you can go for a chip. If L-Jetronic, you should upgrade to megasquirt like many other GTV6 3.0 owners here, and then dyno tune it. You cannot "chip" a Jetronic. You can just use 17"...

Greg,

Did you mention something about an auto ignition retard mechanism for your car when on boost? If you did, can you elaborate more on it?

Question. Is this for a race car with a cage?

If it is not, IMHO, the 116/161 doesn't exactly have a stiff chassis. How would a stiff suspension be that effective?

I haven't carried the rear brakes from the 75 for a long time. HEAVY! Compared to the wilwoods which weigh about 2 lbs? The Rear calipers weigh an easy 8-10 lbs.

But still, for cost reasons, sliding calipers are the way to go.

BTW, Barry, what about hand brakes?

More than likely, the dyno used was a dynojet 248C. This will read higher than others like the dynapack, mustang or maha. Most of the dynos used in US car magazine are dynojets. Actually the correction factor values are given on his website. So you can perform the math yourself according to SAE J134...
