Re: Pumped Oil Supply

I did think about something like that too, it'd be much easier to impliment. What kinda puts me off, and it's not really that bad, is its another electrical load. Having said that, it'd only need to run when the oil was hot and you could impliment a switch on and fault monitoring sysytem to run it o...

Pumped Oil Supply

Right, I'm bored and thinking out loud.............. With a real question mark hanging over the durability of the internals in an Alfa transaxle being able to survive any decent sort of grunt and having seen mentioned a few times (OK, maybe once...........) that having oil pumped onto key areas coul...

Apparently a 2.5 head, so Alfa 6 maybe?

Re: Cool Alfa 2.5 V6 12V CNC head porting video

I always love seeing CNC porting. Especially as any sort of actual hand porting is a cr@p job to have to do.................
But those exhaust ports look huge and way too big for the ehaust valves.

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)

Also make sure that the intake to the supercharger is flowing as much air as the SC needs. Any flow restriction will cause the pressure ratio to change and increase discharge temperatures. A sensative pressure gauge that is tapped into the intake right next to the SC will give the most accurate meas...

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)

Did port the heads. Intergrating an waterinjection system for a few extra horses isn't worth the money in my opinion. It's 2.5" Enlarging it wil just move the torque crurve or not? Lose some in the middle gain som at the top? Just spraying some water in there won't make any extra horse power, ...

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)

Did you do any work to the heads? The standard ports are pretty poor and would help a bit. Water injection for the low cost high octane effect. Would expect it to allow you to run more on boost ignition advance and a bit leaner (tho probably not much point getting any leaner than a 12.5:1 AFR) and g...

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)

Unless there is a either the drive belt is slipping of there is a boost leak, I'd say that the torque curve looks normal. It's a positive displacement supercharger, so the whole thing is really just going to act like a larger capacity version of the same engine. So basically what ever would limit th...

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)

Excellent end results. That high average torque will have the car being effortlessly fast.
I take it the dyno/computer is calculating that at the engine/allowing for drivetrain loss? Correction Method: DIN

Re: Front wheel bearing modification ideas

I remember Jazig trying to fab up something with his work's CNC. Didn't finish it I think. I would like 5x100mm since my wheels are 5x100. So I was toying with the idea of the rear hub of an Audi TT FWD. I will look into the FC/FD front hub and maybe redrill it to 5x100. Otherwise I have to sell al...

Re: Front wheel bearing modification ideas

What is your intended stud pattern? JazigK on AlfaBB and Alfaclubvic and I have been looking at using FC (Series 4/5) RX7 Turbo front hubs. They're aluminium and very light but still use the old school tapered roller bearing arangement with a lip seal rather than much nicer dual angular contact bear...

Re: driveshaft conversion

While sniffing around the net I found that the GTR does infact have a dampened tailshaft, with damping being provided by what looks a lot like a sprung centre that would be used in a clutch.

Re: Piggy Back Unichip question

Something that needs to be understood about sensor bending interceptor tuners that is particularly apparent when adding forced induction, or more specifically, bigger injectors that are needed to supply the extra fuel that forced induction requires, is that the manipulation of the load sensor's sign...
