does anyone out there have any photos, specs or information about what brakes the factory race cars used? in fact any information regarding brakes used in competition when these cars were current? im trying to work out what mods i can make, but still keep my car within the classic rules i wish to ru...

does de-acceleration of the crank come into that equation too?

ie the crank slowing but a heavy piston with too much weight and inertia wanting to go up that little bit further? therefore putting extra load on the rod?

mats, my 2.0 race motor has standard rods that have been polished. i am running paul spruell JE pistons. the motor was built 3 years ago and has seen a lot of hard racing. it hasn't missed a beat. i rev it to 7600rpm all day long, i use a good electronic tach that im pretty confident about its accur...

i have just replaced the timing belt! i just started up the car and there is a whine i have never noticed before! is this something that happens when a timing belt is new or is the belt perhaps too tight? i am using a rebuilt hydraulic tensioner- any suggestions out there that might help me fix this...

i have done just that!! only had the car running for a few moments so its too early to say how successful it was!

i have been doing a lot of research about tensioners over the last week or so for my upcoming timing belt change. from what iv read, im advised to steer clear of the mechanical tensioners. the question is, should i plug my hydraulic tensioner or use a rebuilt standard tensioner? what is the best. is...

iv always had good experiences with paul spruell.
i ordered some pistons off him a few years back and all communication was quick etc. would definately deal again.
drop him another email!
i know a lot of people using the 4 cylinder pistons and all are very happy with the results.

hi all, im about to adjust the valve clearances on my GTV6. iv never done it before and was wondering if the factory recommended clearances are to be followed or can i tighten them up a bit. i have owned 105 cars before and have always run slightly tighter clearances so as to quieten the engine down...

from what iv heard, you can get better quality liners for more performance engines.
i know of someone who bought some from paul spruell in the US. they were 85mm and are apparently better quality than standard
