Re: V6 24V camshaft saga

Last things first. Go find another dyno and re-measure. GTA engines have consistently produced 225-229 wheel hp. Alfa has been consistently optimistic about their power figures ...adding VAT since the early '60's! You'll find interesting reading here: http://rototest-research.eu/popup/performa...

Naaah, that's dangerous stuff! If I was going to ruin his day, I'd pour jello powder in his expansion tank when cold and watch him pull the engine out the next day, after having driven the car!

Thanks guys, things and people are bound to get better :) ...We sure hijacked the hell out of this thread with all this! The floor is now Kevin's after a due apology!
I'm calling the dyno guys again today for a remap re-schedule.

Thanks MD. She lives upstairs from me and my trips there have greatly increased since yesterday, as well as keeping her company. They fixed her with metal inserts, nails etc. Should be able to walk on her own in a few weeks. Best thing is the operation took place at the Air Force hospital (Dad was a...

Just couldn't stay away, could ya? Found a quick way out of the straight-jacket, have you? Re: Busso V6 3.2 24v Coil Pack

Bosch Part number 0221504456 is just a dumb coil, used in Alfa 24v engines. In the 164Q4 and 156 cars, the output stage is in the ecu and the other two 24v 164's (with afm) have two separate power modules on a bracket near the engine.

Senile old goats seem to have a thing for destroying cars in Oz, thinking they can still drive... Stop hiding from the guys in white and do us the favor of donating the space between your ears (where normal humans have their brain -it will take a lot of pictures to explain to you what that is)...

MAKE the sprockets? Why would anyone do that? You can buy them new from Alfa parts or even better they regularly pop up on ebay (usually german ebay).

You do that and you'll be rebuilding your engine soon. It happened twice to some guys with an Opel engine here until they found someone had used the old style sprocket behind the crank pulley! ...Oh, belt tension was correct!

Hi guys, 7 sets of headers are done and there's the possibility of doing another 2 sets while the car is still in the shop. If anyone is interested, now is the time to say it.

Re: Maserati Ghibli GT

Murray, I have no info at all on the carb cars. I was enchanted with the 4-cam ones, after ~1992. At the low end of the scale was the 2liter V6 with 245hp and high up the Ghibli Cup 2liter with 320hp. Remember the old legendary ad trick of taping a $100 bill on the windshield of a AC Shelby Cobra an...

Re: Maserati Ghibli GT

The only reason I didn't trade my 75 3liter+$$ back in '98 for a beautiful light blue 424 (but with a Ghibli Cup 320hp engine) was RELIABILITY -or better, the lack of. The owner of the dealership was a good friend and he talked me out of buying the car. Since then, I have come across many Maser stor...
