Re: 164 starter

Hey Kevin,

That sounds great. When I looked at the WOSperformance site, it stated they were only wholesalers and don't deal with the public? Anyway, if their unit was a straight bolt on part , similiar to the Bosch 0001108098 , that would be great.
Freight would be a killer

Re: 164 starter

Bummer, I am still looking for one. Alex Jupe said he will look into it but he hasn't got any at the moment. Seems like it's rare as hens teeth or I have to pay the earth for one. On another note, Tim Brise from the UK said he can get an axial one with similiar mounting as the small 75 starter but w...

Re: 164 starter

Hey Z,
Are the 164 starter readily available?? If so,
I might be interested . That is assuming the size is smaller and similiar to the 75 Potenziata starter.
Cheers

Re: Project 2 : front mount SA GTV 3.0 - Sei diff

Hey Kev,

What starter did you end up using in your car? Was it the Bosch 0001 108 098 from a 75 Potenziata? I am still trying to source one but no luck so far. Tim Brise has a new one but it's slightly more than 350 pounds including shipping - I am hoping for a cheaper solution :D

Re: Late model 3.0 75 starter Bosch part no ?

Looks like the one I sourced from Greece was the wrong one, Ended up getting one with a Bosch part number 0001108024 with a 3 bolt mounting pattern. Apparantly came off a 4 cylinder......
So back to the drawing board. Anyone got one for sale? ie. Bosch part no. 0001108098
Cheers :D

Re: Late model 3.0 75 starter Bosch part no ?

Zamani, Why don't you contact Greece and see if they have any starters left? Bosch doesn't make that starter anymore but you can still buy them new in the UK. This company seems to have some remaining stock :- http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221130807169?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l...

Re: Late model 3.0 75 starter Bosch part no ?

Woohoo.... Looking forward to getting my headers :):)

Zamani, I bought mine second hand from a N. Benavelis Alfa dealer in Greece. The person I dealt with was Evangelia Benavelli. Nice to deal with.

Yeah, I have to do the school run on Thursday and Friday mornings :(

Re: Late model 3.0 75 starter Bosch part no ?

Jim, gee you are still up ? Need to get some sleep :)

I'll have to source a 24v shield as mine didn't have it. Probably why my starter died early :)

Re: Late model 3.0 75 starter Bosch part no ?

Haha, Jim beat me to posting a pic of both starters :)

Hey Jim, with your new headers, did you put any heat shields or wraps around the starter? Or is it not necessary?

Re: Late model 3.0 75 starter Bosch part no ?

Zamani,

I will post the pics tonight when I get home. I will put both starters side by side and you can see the difference in size.

Kevin,

The GTV6 starter has a different Bosch Part no. and I shall try to list it when I get home.

Cheers,
Brian
