Re: Front Brake Pad Recomendations
I use Porterfield R4S for an unmodified GTV6 for track and street. That and Motul 600 RBF fluid solved all of my brake fade problems. I also added a heat shield to the exhast system where it runs near the rear caliper. My stopping distance lap after lap is now only tire limited(Goodrich g-Force Supe...

Re: Need help identifying weird part
Isn't it near the air/oil separator on the right hand side valve cover?
Could it be related to that?

Warning: This post may be controversial!
Giuliettaevo2, as viewed from America it seems that of all the European nations the Dutch seem to love Alfas the most, perhaps even more than the Italians! Is this your (perhaps biased!) observation? Is this well known but we American are too far away to get a good look at the European scene?...

Re: Ferrari inspired GTV6 challenge
Alfa has already been there, done that. This link (in Italian) Automobilismo.it discusses two 1970s Alfa prototypes of interest here. The first is the Alfa Romeo 2000 Z Periscopio which is an Alfetta chassis powered by a mid-engine Alfa Nord with a Junior Z body (!). The second is the Alfa Romeo Spr...

Re: Window sticker
Jammer thanks for posting it.
It tells me two factoids I didn't know:
1) It came in through the Port of LA. I would have guessed all Alfas came in on the east coast and were trucked to the west.
2) It came with Michelin tires. I thought they all came with Pirellis.

Look here:

It is an American requirement. People are interested in them for old cars mostly for nostalgia.

Re: bilstien or koni
Mats once made his opinion quite clear in another thread:
throw the Konis in a deep pond far-far into the woods then drink loads of whiskey (or possibly Vodka) so you forget what you did to them.
Still on of my favorite AlfaGTV6.com quotes

Re: Get Square Time (Humour)
You do realize it is satire don't you?
Just plausible enough to be true but just outrageous enough to make you grin!
Besides it's good fun to pick on NASCAR since it is THE motorsport in the USA!

Re: High efficiency V6
For completeness, US patents 4452208 and 4455984 describe this invention in more detail. To find the patents simply type the patent number into the Google patent search page: http://www.google.com/patents If you do that you'll also see that Ford followed up with two patents on the same theme: US Pat...
