The reasons I like GoTech is that it is a complete system, fuel and ignition. It comes with its own harness, it is not too terribly hard to install (its not easy), you can use the original injectors (I would suggest this on any stock or nearly stock engine), original distributor, all the original se...

Now that I have most other things sorted out on the car, I am really starting to drive her more and have just started to play with the programming. I have a G-Tech A/F Ratio meter hooked up, I know this is not accurate enough to do an accurate tune, but I am trying to get the car less rich, it is fu...

I played around with a 164 fuel rail on a GTV6 motor, I did not get very far with it, but I thought it would work if you ground off the mounting tabs for the 164 motor and put longer fuel hose between the two rails, but like I said, I just plyed with it for about 10 minutes. You can use the L-Jet bi...

Fuel Pressure

I was playing with my fuel system last night, (putting on hose clamps on the injector hoses because two were leaking from my 3 year old fuel hoses), and I noticed that I get about 32psi at idle and upon initial opening of the throttle it jumps up to about 38psi and then down to 30psi and less as the...

It really is just the the thermo time switch and the cold start injector that operate that system, my guess would be a bad connector on either the switch or the injector, there are a few tests out there for the wiring. I know a friend went through this and it ended up being a connector. Good luck.

This is a good one, you are right that it is strange to have it start and run well cold, then die as it warms up, almost like it is still trying to run a cold mixture as it warms, but I would not expect that to be such a sudden change. It really sounds like your fuel pump is not running, but you sai...

Mericet is correct, but they are not listed as Brembo kits, they are listed as ATE rebuild kits, and I got a pair of them from Andy at Performatek last year but they work perfect in the Brembos. Also, Centerline has the braided lines and should have the rebuild kits.

It could also be the exact opposite of what Octopussy wrote, maybe the AAV is working, but the actual idle speed is set too low, that would be when the engine is cold the AAV is supplying enough air to the engine, but as it closes, the true idle control valve is set to low and you loose your idle. D...

My oil consumption was a quart every 1k miles, and that is the reason for my rebuild, but once I got into the engine, I found the previous owner had used stop leak in the cooling system and everything had been coated with the stuff, so I felt good about the rebuild, but the engine was still in great...

Murray, Yes, same piston and liners (w 210k miles) and Total Seal rings, I think someone said use the TS compression rings and Deves oil ring. I have not done a compression test, I guess I should, I did do a dyno run with it and it had a very smooth power and torque curve, and comparable peak HP rea...

Murray, You and I went down the same street with the rebuild, but my oil consumption started out very good, very little during break in, after that I went to Mobil 1 15w50 and it has steadily increased over the last 12k miles (I don't drive the car enough to get 5k between 6 months, but that will ch...

Are you running synthetic oil? I did the same as you, reused pistons and liners and total seal rings. I run Mobil 1, and it burns cleaner than normal oils, so I don't think you get the dark oily look, just burned grey left over stuff.

I don't think they do from the factory, but there are a few suppliers out there that sell Magnesium plugs for the block with the idea being that chemical/eletrical reaction that eats away at Aluminum will attack Magnesium first, there by protecting the Aluminum. I don't see them for sale anymore, bu...

How much oil consumption do you have? #6 on mine is the worst, I am guilty of the short trips, that's why I asked since mine looks like that. More white than tan/brown. Have you had head work done on the car or headers? I have both done on mine so I assumed that was contributing to the look of the p...
