Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Intercoolers, hmmm. Been thinking of water to air but expense is holding me back somewhat. Truth is, I am undecided and need to dwell on it longer. As you can see from the photos, making some quiet progress. Of course I am expecting industry delays over the Christmas holiday break. I am amazed at th...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Hi Zeefa. Between you and me, we are sponsoring a kaleidoscope of transaxle information for the 3 million readers. I am starting to feel like a relic of a bygone era when this site was abuzz like a big family of honeybees bringing new and exciting bits of information to contribute to the hive as a w...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Now I am confused. I thought Bob was your uncle. I have tried solar panels already and got banned for having too much aero. Previously used lower end torque from a Roots blower. OK for towing caravans. I still have wide mid range torque from the twin screw Sprintex in the Cab. Time to experiment wit...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Making a quiet progress on the engine. Finally settled on the arrangement. Still in the process of making a fuel rail but that is well under way as well. Should be installing the engine in the 75 bay shortly. After that I will need to measure up for a custom prop shaft.

Re: Driveshaft driven Alternator

A bit of lag in the response. Blame it on cross hemisphere data lag.. Well the idea has certainly been deployed in very many forms before. Fortunately for the transaxle, the differential isn't moving with the suspension like a live axle which would give the alternator a hard time most likely on the ...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

The on again off again on again alternator position is now locked in. It minimizes the crowding of components on the exhaust size of the engine. It should have always lived here away from the radiant heat.

Now to sort out the supercharger mount...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Whilst the front of the engine is permanent daydream, the rear section is pretty much complete save for the mounting of the starter motor in its usual place. However the components there are modified for racing purposes as you will see. I did not weigh the flywheel so don't ask me. It is not what wa...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

That's because I use a unique formula to make the calculation . That formula is as follows:- The angle of the dangle, is proportional to the throb of the knob, the heat of the meat and equal the sag of the bag to get the scoop of the droop. To keep it rust free you must apply knacker lacquer which a...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Slow porgress for many reasons. Working around a bunch of other cars and doing my 75 when I get a chance. Waiting on machine shops to get my custom stuff made these days takes an eternity.

Here's a couple of frames indicating a tiny amount of progress.

Re: Alfa wins its first TCR race in the USA

Hey Good Buddy. Maybe the door has opened just a tiny bit but in the unobtainium sector. Looking at the somewhat retro inspiration of the 33 Stradale and the new one spawned from it, it is an undeniable effort at precisely what I am saying Alfa should be doing. Whether it is a modern remake of the 1...

Re: Alfa wins its first TCR race in the USA

Stretching the subject matter a tad, I think Alfa should take a leaf out of the Alfaholics approach and rebuild the GTV6 with a better transaxle and shifting together with a torque tube and pump up the 24valve Busso with upgraded brakes etc. Just make a decent job of it.
