Re: Project 2 : front mount SA GTV 3.0 - Sei diff

While I have been waiting for my new flywheel to be balanced ie the inbalance to be copied from my original flywheel I have building up some sets of compomotive split rims which were the originals for this car . I had spare centres or hubs as you call it and found a company here to make up sets of b...

Re: Jim K. 3.2 engine

Looking very good . Jim if you set the belt tension with the pin still in the tensioner then surely if it fails it can only move out about 1mm ( the pin I'm referring to) . When you felt the tension of the belt when you suspected something was up did you check it at Tdc as maybe with your cams it pu...

Re: my 75 turbodelta, front 330d gearbox

The BMW diff does give you the most options and they are cheap . You just need to make a cage around it and move your brakes outboard . I do regret not doing it earlier . I have pics of it done in a few GTVs that race in SA . Its also 17kg lighter ,

Re: Andy´s ex-white GTV6 (CZ) - pearl green

There is a lot of fan replacements out there . Best I used was the 156gta fans . They fit nicely but just need to centre correctly to avoid the thermostat housing . Other cheap fan was the single fan from a Kia Shuma . Not sure which model but really good shape blade and designed as a proper pull th...

Re: my 75 turbodelta, front 330d gearbox

What type of thrust bearing are you going to use . I have also just remade my flywheel using the E34 M5 unit which I will post pics in my thread . Also was using dual mass as template for my hold centres .
Your Project is coming on nicely .

Re: AR75 hillclimb

I was just looking at the pics of your LS on page two . I see the your ramp angles are standard at 45 degrees for load and coast . For hill climbs is it not better to recut new angles ( rotate ring into new place) at 30 degree load and 70 for coast . At least coming into tight hairpins you won't get...

Re: Clutch issues 1986 GTV6

The fork will come out easily . To put back is a real b1tch . Either it takes ten seconds or five minutes . You gotta get thrust bearing rotated so flat parts are horizontal and slide for in at angle with front more forwards while back slides between pivot ball . Takes a while and it usually falls o...
