yeah im not a big fan of the new style tensioner, i had one slip, bent a bunch of valves, luckily i know how to do my own engine repair, that would have been expensive! :roll:

does the alt. work at idle after you have reved it up for a second? i have had several alfas and every one of them has to be reved for a sec to get the alt to kick in, is this really a problem, the cars like to be reved up anyway, if you dont like to go over 3500 you shouldnt own an alfa!

no matter what kind of battery people say to use, the only one i trust is the Optima Red top battery, will crank forever and usually last a good 10 years before they finally give up. it has 800CCA so it doesnt care how cold it is outside, works wonders. they are pretty expensive, but well worth the ...

yeah i was driving out of a parking lot at 2000 rpm belt tensioner gave way and bent every valve on the left bank of my milano verde, luckily im a mechanic, so did a valve job and went on my merry way, but in a shop it would be a good $800+ not really sure never had to pay for car work, ha ha ha, oh...

kevin, i dont think you realize there is a huge difference between the 24v engine and the 12v engine! yes the 24v engine requires much larger primaries, and does not care much about length, but the 12v engine is a totally different animal, the single valve does not push the same volume of exhaust as...

have you taken the covers off to inspect the belt or to check how many teeth the belt skipped? the v6 had a one tooth leeway for timing, beyond one tooth they turn the valves into pretzels, ask me how i know!
