Twin Spark Engines

OK. Time's up. I gotta eat some humble pie (again) I can't get my hands on that 105 hp stuff so I am caving in. Still haven't even got a greasy finger off an old TS donk for sale.. like not even a whisper. What's goin' on? You can't all be curling up to your spare old engines at night out there sure...

Cooling System

Marco

Adding plumber's fluroscene dye to the coolant water will result in an extremely bright colour to be created in the fluid. Under pressure when the fluid is released, the leak should be visible from Mars !

Use of a U.V. light will also help.

Good luck.

Ccooling System

Could I suggest you have the system pressure tested and you maybe able to detect the actual leak. Once you know what it is, you could repair it properly rather than do a band-aid job.

Twin Spark

Mats, brilliant link. Read it cover to cover but I still dont get a clear picture that emerges. Whats the bottom line here? What head goes with what block for the biggest bang for the buck? (naturally aspirated) The lingering question I have is : Should you try to make a 16V 155 engine adaptable for...

Twin Spark Engines

One for the engine Gurus out there. I would appreciate some advice. I am referring to the 2.0 litre version of these engines. I understand that they are produced in 8 and 16 valve configuration. As I am trying to buy one of these suckers, I need to know which car they came from, some idea of power d...

Driveline

Sorry I haven't got back to you sooner. There are no factory balance marks that I am aware of except maybe on the clutch/flywheel assy. You need to make marks yourself by applying marking paint or some other technique to register the assembly in the position it is in before taking it apart. This goe...

Nice dog Micke. What does he drive? I'm guessing a turbo Volvo? I can just imagine him with a starched scarf stickin' out the window like Snoopy would do it !

An F for MD ? I take it that F stands for Mr Fabulous and Funky in which case I am Fine with that. :D Thanks for the brain food Jim and Mats. Interesting industrial perspective about the production of the heads. So Jim what you are saying to me is , "never mind the quality, feel the width"...

Inrtroduce yourself

Don't know quite how we got from introducing yourself to cleaning heads but hey, I'm here.

Thing I noticed Mats is that each chamber is different with a different internal shape. Is that just spaghetti casting or its meant to be that way?

Have to agree Zamani. NGK's are a top plug I have been using them for years. Was just curious if there was something "new" around .
