Re: Jim K. 3.2 engine
Looking good Jim , from my side on subject of plennum and from my mates in SA the bigger throttle body made no difference apart being difficult to map at low rpm even on the 3.7 motors so I doubt it will be any better on the 3.2 . The tapered plennum on side delivered really good power on number of ...

Re: Race Animal ?
It was Scoobie day at Z . Dawie got Braam to drive . This car does not run coil overs but keeps torsion bars with RS springs in a cup type holder between lower A arm and reinforced bump stop . Clever way of getting around the " not having coil overs in rules " . Got some pics somewhere ...

Re: Project 2 : front mount SA GTV 3.0 - Sei diff
Md , this unit definitely does not slip as its way over the spec the torque my engine produces . As soon as it gets hot you can't select first or second and when you do get it in your window for release is minuscule compared to when cold . I understand the build up of heat is huge in these clutches ...

Re: Project 2 : front mount SA GTV 3.0 - Sei diff
I have been doing a bit of road driving in this trackday car and everything functions as I hoped it would do except the clutch I fitted . As soon as it gets hot in traffic or even three pull offs on slopes its stops functioning . I thought I could live with the race clutch shudder and sudden release...

Re: No power to ignition or fuel pump GTV6
Have you tried bypassing the ignition incase your ignition barrel has given up the ghost . Could just be coincidental . There three wire to ignition as you will see on the plug connector under steering consul . Worth a try because if their is no power there then you have to go back to bulkhead .

Re: The Orange Cab -MD's New Racer
Ha ha ha ha ! I heard turds can land on the ceiling down under - something to with supernatural Ozzie powers or the pineapple porting technique . Jim I am afraid to argue with these guys after I witnessed one then punching our great white sharks in SA a week ago . So let's assume for time being the ...

Re: The Orange Cab -MD's New Racer
Certainly an eye catching car . I bet it draws a lot of attention with its pace and colour scheme . Looks great ! . Can you hear distinctly their is a supercharger or does your exhaust mask the noise . Any on the track action pics ? With all that torque I'm sure it must be huge fun as you don't have...

Re: No power to ignition or fuel pump GTV6
Check your power source to ecu relay . This is separate red wire that runs from rear of car ( battery ) alongside the power cable . It connects to the 6mm stud on bulkhead alongside the battery and starter cable .

Re: Std 1986 engine stalls
I saw a GTV a few days ago where the airflow meter flap had got stuck on its pivots which created similiar problem . Check by taking airbox off and afm cap off, then push flap with fingers to see if it rotates freely and its moving on circuit board inside afm cap . Can also check with ignition on ( ...

Z , here is name of guys who can make a replica Alfa prop with torsion resilient tube and universals . They said when I was at their shop Itbwould cost about £450 . You then need to make adaptors to flywheel . However ... Just use the coupling cage on std prop with new front coupling , BMW centre co...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK
Back again at the local track - Goodwood . This time it was hosted Classic Alfa with superb weather . Even as a serf efrican I got frazzled . Their were six transaxles out on the track with some really nicely cars that have made appearances in AutoItalia in the past . Bill Smiths red 3.5 without bum...

Re: driveshaft conversion
Duk , that's the best solution - proper made couplings . When I bought a rubber coupling for the BM ZF box I had a choice of two as their was one specifically for the M3 . A friend of mine here has had the original Pirelli couplings on his 3.5 GTV for 17years and does at least five trackdays and a r...
